Habitual Exercise/Activity.....
Amy, I had a Panniculectomy. My last abdominal reconstruction Sort of gave me a "free tummy-tuck" In that it pulled all of the abdominal muscles into place. (or as many of them as remained):-) This PS was just to lose the little flap of skin at my beltline. So just one "Bikini-line cut" all the way across. I have been so fortunate with my skin. I have no sag anywhere else. Chest, arms, thighs, rear, etc…all drew up fine. It took a while, but the rest of me responded to exercise well. I had rash issues with my pannus and after my PCP, My Surgeon, and my dermatologist ALL said I had to have the surgery I went for it. My Coumadin use made any rash a Bleeding problem. Insurance covered the whole deal. With my track record with surgery, I was very reluctant But now? I wish I had gone for it much sooner. It makes a huge difference in my "Shape." Clothes fit and FEEL so much better. I had originally had a consult with Dr. Bernadette Wang Ashraf, In Atlanta. I was planning on coming over and staying for a month. But found a Doc in Memphis who had recently performed The exact procedure on 6 other men in the last 3 months So I went with him and it was Great. I was feeling fine in about 3 to 4 days. The Plastic Surgeons tend to be more liberal with the pain meds. Minor discomfort ended after day 3, and once my drains were removed I was Great. Some swelling that will continue on and off For over a month, up to 2 months. It seems better each week. Larry Perry from the Men’s Board had his hernia repair And full Tummy Tuck a few weeks ago and was feeling fine Also around the end of the first week. His was an "Anchor Cut." He has posted a number of times about how much easier this was Than the WLS surgery as well. Mine may be atypical, but It was so much easier than I imagined. Best Wishes- Dx
