HI Patricia, I just had a gastric sleeve on Monday. It was not too bad. Of course some pain but nothing bad. I was very nervous too. I kept thinking of everything that could go wrong. I am very happy I went thru with it. I will be happy when I am totally recovered and can start counting down the pounds. Good luck. Let me know if I can help.

Hi,

I had my RNY on June 24th. I am 39, wondering the same thing, am I doing the right thing.  The first couple of days I thought I made a big mistake.  But just being almost a week out, I realized this was a must for me and I already feel great.  I was tired of living life in a foreign body.  You can do this!  Best wishes and good luck!

Topic: 40 y/o RNY post-open in OH :)

Hi everyone! I'm a post-open RNY in Ohio. I had the surgery in 08. I had a baby in 2012.  I'm looking for ppl to talk to about my situation who can relate to food being an addiction and the slow recovery process.

Would love to be your pen pal.  I'm new to the site but have done several of the pre op "requirements" now and hopefully if all goes well I'm looing at an Aug surgery date.  You have taken the first steps good for you.  For me those first steps are the hardest.  Don't be discouraged by the insurance stuff, it's my experience that they can be slow to respond so don't give up.

I will be going to a seminar on July 1st to get started with whatever is needed to get this in motion. I would love some advise on what paperwork is needed for the insurance company. Trying to figure out where to start. Is there anyone in Baton Rouge, La area. Would love a buddy.

Topic: Beggining DS journey, late 20's, married, 3 kids, military spouse

Hi,

I'm just starting out on my WLS journey. I'm currently living in Washington State and will be receiving my surgery at Madigan Military Treatment Facility. I'm scheduled for my first apt, an informational seminar, in mid-July, but I would love to find a pen pal that I could chat with and share info. I'm married and I have three wonderful children, two boys (ages 2 & 3)  and a four month old baby girl.

More than any number on a scale, I think that what I most look forward to is achieving my dream of one day running and completing a marathon. Its something that I always wanted to do but because of my weight I never felt like it was achievable.

Have a great day!
Bianca

Went for my first evaluation yesterday. Need to lose 22 lbs before surgery.  Today starts my "reset" in life.  After I lose 11 lbs, my surgery will be scheduled.  Overwhelming feelings at times wondering if I'm doing the right thing.  So much that is "unknown".  Would love any support/encouragement I can get :)
