Hi everyone~ I am just beginning this process to RNY surgery and hopefully will be having surgery late May first week of June. I'd love to talk with anyone going through or who has gone through surgery who is looking for a friend they can "relate" all of this with and share the ups and downs. Let me know if interested

Hi Hofie, I am new to all of this too. Would love to be here to provide any support I can to you. I see that your surgery date looks to be scheduled for today, wow how very exciting! Please let me know how you are doing :)
I'm in SE Ohio, I'm soon to be 31 yo mother of 3. I had RNY surgery in late 2005... I lost a good amount of weight, but since have had another kid and gained back almost all what I lost. Been really down on myself, I don't even mention the surgery to people anymore because it's embarrassing, I feel like a failure.
Other health issues I have are herniated disks in my neck and back and nerve pain. Migraines. Possible sleep apnea. Stress, depression, and anxiety. IBS. And at times my stomach won't empty.
But I've got to do something, I need to get back on track and try to lose some of this weight. I'll never be skinny, I just want to be a more normal size and healthier and in better shape to be able to do things with the kids... etc.
Mostly looking for an email/ chat IM buddy that I can talk to about everything from weight loss to recipes, exercise, just things going on in our lives, maybe kids if you have any.
So if you're interested get back to me, not sure if you can leave IM or email info on here. But let me know.
Thanks
Jen
Hi I'm from Ohio... I saw your post for a penpal. I can't see your profile so I can't tell anything about you. I had RNY surgery in late 2005... If you're looking for something similar message me back, I just re-joined this site, not sure if you can include your email or IM info. Let me know.

Hi Cristy! I am also a nurse and am using TriCare for my surgery. I live in San Antonio. I am hoping to get my surgery date
sometime in the next 4 weeks. I was going to have my surgery at Fort Sam Houston, and was well into the process, but the
surgeons were deployed, and now they only have two. So I decided to go to a private practice. I have now started that process.
The base required a 5% weight loss to be considered. I dropped from 246 to 233 using weigh****chers. I believe I will stay on it
until I start my 2 week pre-op diet.
How are you doing in the process?
