Hello Deborah,
I had all of those emotions to.  I had my surgery on July 20,2010 in Lubbock, Texas by Drl Syn.   You have all kinds of feeling going through.  I wieghted 300 pounds and now I am at  210 and still lossing, my goal is 175.
When my day of my surgery was on me I had alot of feelings, but I went into the surgery scared and excited.   I can not even remember the surgery was in the operating room then presto out of surgery.   My stomach was sore and I had to walk after surgery because they want you to walk.   I found sleeping upright in a lazy boy recliner was good for me.   I had a stomach band that I wore for about 3 weeks and this really help alot.  I used my recliner as for me the bed was not very comfortable. You will find that it is best not to laugh if you can help it, just do ho ho ho.   You will start your new life and things will be easier for you walking, bending, more energy and smaller clothes sizes.
So do not worry to much but know it is the best thing you can do for yourself.  I wish I would have done it years ago, but I would still do it again.   I will lift you up in prayer and all will go great for you.  If you have any questions to ask please feel free to ask me.  Take care and be happy. Ray

Veronica is such a pretty name-why would anyone call you Cathy??

Thanks so much for the reply.  Congrats with your RNY.  It's pretty hard in the beginning isn't it!  But well worth it i think.  Are you still in pain??

Getting all the vitamins and protein in is the hardest part  i think.
I had my RNY on March 9th.  I would say the worst is over.  I have only lost 33 lbs-not much compared to other people.  I'm working on it though.

I'm 47 divorced 15 years.  Have a grown daughter.
Glad to hear you have a pretty good guy for a husband-it sure helps :-).

I'm in Bedminster.  You?

Talk soon and keep up the good work.

Hi,
How are you doing since your surgery? I had mine on May 13th. I had the RNY and I am losing. It's a little rough some days, but I am turning this site to help. Hopefully we could become pen pals - so here's a little about me. My name is Veronica, but every one calls me Cathy. I am 34 and I am married to a pretty wonderful guy (most days). No kids yet...maybe one day. I live in NJ. So tell me a little about yourself. Hope you have a great weekend.

Hello Mary, my name is Reba. I'm new here, & just learning things about the surgeries. How did yours go? Did you have any problems in Mexico?  I would be freaked out because I've never got  on a plane in my life! ! I'm 48yrs. old. I know that's pretty strange.   I'm 5ft. tall & weigh 205lbs. So I'm almost as wide as i am tall:#    Please , if you don't mind, I'd love for you to share you experience with me. Tell me every scary thing you experienced cause if I choose to do this, I want NO SURPRISES..... Since I'm new  It'll be a while before this msg shows up 'cause the monitor has to approve it. So I hope by the time you get it you're well on your way to recovery & quickly becoming a success story....Best wishes,
