Actually I am 4 weeks post op VSG and am very happy I lost 33 lbs so far since the 2 week pre op diet so it is pretty fast they say the average is 100 lbs in 6 months (scary) and I have been worried (daily) about the extra skin and I think I am getting over the fact that it is a given that we will have that...ewwwwwww I know. I cant affored any more surgeries either I paid cash for the VSG
SO I feel ya. I hope you make all the right decisions
This is the best decision I made to get myself healthy so I am gonna have to take the bad with the good I guess....

If you lose the weight slowly and exercise it can minimize the amount of loose skin, however, It will not guarantee that you don't have some. Let's face it, I would rather have loose skin than be overweight...at least it doesn't affect my overall health.

Hello Rose, my name is also Rose...I had Realize Band on Sept 15, 2009. I have lost 78 lbs and am feeling great. This is a decision you need to make for yourself. Learn all you can about all the surgeries availalbe to you. I chose band surgery because I didn't want to rearrange my organs, others don't want a plastic object in their body. Whatever your decison, you can get lots of support here. Go to the different surgery boards and read, search the internet and read some more. Good luck and we are here for you!

Hey Lisa, thank you for your reply...See now this is what I needed to know. I was thinking on those terms, see the only thing I am worried about is how fast does the weight come off and will there be any skin hanging off of me? I can't afford to have( CMS)to have it cut off. Oh I am so confussed as to the skin situation, ok does it fall off fast or will I have the time to work it off? Thank yu so much again, I needed to know this. Ok now you have made my thinking "More Intense", lol. Ok I will be keeping intouch with you if you don't mind. You said that you are in Pre-op, and you are loseing ? Am I right? Man I hate that crap I got my yahoo account hijacked from Edinberg Scotland arrrrrgh I wish they would just get jobs as telemarketers or debt collectors so we can just hang up on them....LOL Sorry to those that telemarketers or debt collectors (A job is a job nowadays) (or the I.R.S.)

I am always looking for support one way or another it helps me thru these hard times I am 4 weeks out from VSG and I am a food addict as they say I have no energy still and just joined the gym I hope to GOD I use it this time...I cant go thru this over and over so now that I had VSG I feel like this is the beg of the end so that is great..however I dont feel any dif except that I cant pig out anymore (which is a good thing I know) I have lost a total of 33 lbs so far (Yay me) So I went from a compulsive overeater to a compulsive computer geek...OK I can deal with that..LOL

Hi there so have u already decided on the lap band??? I chose VSG after I had already made my mind up about having the lap band first.
but the more I learned about Lap Band the less I wanted a foreign object in my body (just my opinion,and u hate needles) Girl you better do more homework.. I went on YOUTUBE and viewed tons of peoples videos diaries and it helped me soooo much... I am 4 weeks post op VSG I love it I am so thankful and happy I chose it...then again I was a lucky one (so I am told) I have had no complications no issues and I am feeling ok I lost 33 lbs so far since the 2 week pre op diet prior to surgery...then again I went to a support group and the ladies with Lap Band are happy to .. except the one that had to re-do her surgery...YIKES
So I am on here daily checking out everyones situations making sure I am in the norm...I feel ya, you dont wanna tell everyone about the surgery I was like that at first Now I tell everyone I run into..it is weird...I dont want them thinking I am smoking rocks when they start seeing me shrinking away... LOL
P.S. With the sleeve (VSG) there is hardly any dumping and no hunger hormones.....check it out

Hi I am Lisa from California I had my VSg JUly 19th 2010 I have already lost 33 lbs since the 2 week pre-op diet so I hear that I am doing it right...it is great I have no regrets ask me anything I am on here quite a lot now...it is so comforting to see there are people like me here just like you said, no judgements...I am always looking for someone to chat with So r u having VSG or GB
