Topic: Pen Pal in San Francisco
I am having revision surgery from RNY to DS in San Francisco the second week of November with Dr. Rabkin. I am looking for a pen pal who might possibly be willing to check up on me while in San Francisco. I am travelling alone for my surgery from Portland, Oregon.
I am 43, although I will have turned 44 by the time I have my surgery. I have two little girls. I'm a public servant. I build houisng for people with HIV/AIDS.

Topic: Would like DS pen pal in TN area
Hi, I am having the DS on Sept. 20. I have already lost about 40 lbs during my grueling six months and this lovely 800 calorie diet. I would love to have a pen pal to go thru this with. I am 56 and about to be a grandmother x2, both of my daughters are pregnant. So I have lots of motivation.

Very excited that you have chosen to have this awesome tool given to you. I had my RNY on 5/28/2010 and have not regretted it at all. Very exciting to see people improving there lives. If you need any support, or just need to talk feel free to email anytime. This does have its ups and downs but it is amazing how much it improves your life! :) Keep in touch!

Congrats to both of you making this decision. I have found that I have not regretted it one bit, and so far everything is going great! If either of you need anything please feel free to email me, etc.. Keep me posted on how everything is going! :)

I just started... I saw the psych and I have a nutrion appt on Tues and then next wed i have to have the egd done. I have recently been told i have to do a weightl loss clinic which has been set up with my surgeons office but by the way they are talking it will be within 3 months. my insurance approved it but said i had to have these things done. The make you jump through hoops to get the surgery. Good luck with your surgery! Let me know how it goes and how you feel...

I actually have my surgery in 5 days (9/15) and i'm not as nervous as i thought i would be (maybe the day of might be worse but who knows)
what point of the process are you at. The reason i ask is because of what my insurance company had me do before they would approve the surgery it is over a year since i started the process
