Hi Shawn! So how are you doing since your surgery? Could you give me some tips on the blended foods. Please! Also, did you have trouble with the protein drinks. I feel I will never get past the liquids. Is their a light at the end of the tunnel? What kind and how much are you able to eat now? Talk to you soon. Kelli

Hello Shannon, Wow this means a lot to me , I also meet my surgeon 10/1......I went to he's seminar Aug.19th. I have been waiting for this day and now I am a Little excited. This date with him in N.Y Hospital, is a one on one appointment. I can't wait to meet him so I can explain to him how badly I need this operation. I was going for the Lap-Band, but have changed my mind reading the post from other people. I am going for the VSG. I don't like the part where if I got the LB, I would have the port under my skin and NEEDLES, I hate needles.Plus I want this to be LONG TERM... I am 53 yrs old and full of life and can't live it do to pain in knees and back. I just want to WALK again ....Ops! Sorry for going on & on& on....So I wish we can stay in touch, so we can exchange stories. Good Luck & Best Wishes to all....Elite52

Hi, My name is Arlene. I'm in Ontario but am in the same boat as you. I've been to the orientation, had a visit with a social worker , a meeting with a nutritionist and Oct 21 will see the psychiatrist. I haven't seen a surgeon yet. I'd be happy to chat with you .

Hello all, I am meeting my surgeon on Friday (Oct.1st) I am very excited and prepared for what ever he tells me to do. I am going for the VSG . I was going to do the Lap-Band but after reading the blogs and story's of people who have change from LB, I think this is the one for me. I have been waiting since Aug19th, just to meet him, and he says you have to know exactly what you want before you meet with him. I am 350lbs and am very uncomfortable and always in pain, I am hoping this will stop the pain and teach me the right way to a long life....I would like to see my grand kids , maybe get married? God Bless anyone who is about to go throw with this and who has already done it.My heart goes out to all......I will keep posting my thoughts, in order to be there for anyone who so ever wants to know what to expect......elite53
