Hi Amy; I had to do the 6 month program also before my surgery...it is good to start working on routines that you will have once you do the surgery, get in protein first, practice the no drinking with meals....before you know it you will be done with this part and moving on to the actual surgery. Just keep working at it even when it gets like it is too much...it will be so worth it for you in the end!! Feel free to message me anytime

I am trying to lose my 10% before I see the surgeon, so I have been drinking protein shakes 2x day then have a sensible protein/veggie dinner. I have lost 15lbs...but tonight I am struggling. My husband is very supportive, but tonight he cooked himself some tacos and they smell soooo good. I am going to Kaiser Fremont for my surgery and I am not sure how long it will be until I get a date. I hope by losing lbs. some before my 1st consult that will put me on the "express lane". lol

I have to say that I had an awesome support team...my husband, my boys, my boss....they have dealt with my neverending journey to the new me. They will be important to keep you grounded sometimes, as you change and sometimes get overwhelmed with the change they can make you see yourself the way they do. I even now at 18 months out still see the fat me and they force me to look at the new me! Let them know what you will be doing with your eating, etc because they really will wonder if you are eating enough.....and let them know that the doctor is the one that you will listen to when it comes to whether you need to lose more or if you are good....everyone around me kept telling me to stop losing only because they were so used to seeing the fat me; the doctor gave me a number and I went to that number even when people freaked out....now that they are used to me at this weight they are happy for me.

You are so special! Thank you for choosing me to reach out to! Congratulations on your consult...are you excited? I had my PAT (pre-admissions testing) on yesterday and my excitement flew through the roof! I am so looking forward to life after surgery! I wish we could just skip over next week
; but I guess I need that time too to organize around my place. OH MY GOODNESS! Again, thank you SO very much for reaching out to me. Know that if you find yourself needing some support and encouragement, I am just a few clicks away

Hi! Thank you for the open invitation for all the questions that I am sure I will have ...I am SO happy, I now have tears in my eyes! I find myself having to encourage those closest to me that I am going to be fine and my life will do nothing but change for the better. As I encourage them, I encourage mysself the more!! Can I ask you, "what kind of support" or better yet how can I tell my family/friends to be there for me? I don't know what to expect and they ask me to write down everything that I am going to need help with and I can't find any anwsers for them.
