Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a penpal who has gone through the RNY procedure.  I just had it done last week and as prepared as I thought I was going into the surgery, I have realized there is still so much for me to learn now that the surgery is complete.

 I have noticed a lot of people would like a penpal based on regional location but that isn't significant to me (should it?).  Maybe the only trait I would seek in a penpal is someone around my age.  I'm 30 years old so if you are between 25 and 40, I think we could benefit from each other.

I hope I get a few messages or replies because I could use all the advice/help/motivation that I can get.

I had mine 3/04/2010.  How are you doing so far?  The beginning was the roughest on me.

 I am new to this site but not new to this issue. I had surgery 10 years + ago. What is your status? True, it would be nice to have someone to talk to as you go along this journey. More importantly you need to get and stay informed. Have you done your research? Do you know the consequences of this surgery? Have you planned for the difficulties ahead? Believe it or not some of the difficulties arise out of arriving at your goal and finding it no better than where you started. Not to scare you, just be advised, you must prepare! To lose all that weight is truly a wonderful and powerful experience that is a life changing event; one I know will be quite gratifying. I am the voice of experience, use me. I know alot and am willing to share and I am sure you have many questions. My procedure was a Bilio Pancreatic Diversion. Quite extremetors actually considered safe just 10 years ago. When I took on this venture there were only 10 Doctors in the Mid-Atlantic Region who performed any type of gastric procedure. There was only 1 in Maryland.

 Hi everyone. I am a 39yr old female I live in Goodyear, AZ. I used to be banded but had to have it removed so I am now sleeved! YAY!!!!! I am an RN but am no longer able to work due to severe back injury and fibro. I'm married with 5 kids total but 2 are grown, the other 3 are getting there. 
To be honest so many of what used to be my interests I have had to give up. I have been on horses my whole life but no longer have any. I used to ride a motorcycle but no longer do. I love my lttle dog, Apple. I would love to learn how to sew and crochet.
I desperately need a friend as I am often alone and it is starting to really get to me. I think it would be nice to have a buddy to walk and work out with a bit too.

Yes I live in Alaska and I am supposed to have surgery in November, I am going out of state and no Insurance is going to pay for.
