Topic: Looking for an e-mail pal in Northeast Atanta
Hi there! I have a lap band. "Have been there and done that 18 months ago." Am now at 275 and down 90 lbs with another 100 to go. I would like to find a "pal" to text/talk/swim with/have coffee with, and who wants to know about or share or help together with weight loss strategies. I am in Northeast Atlanta. I have lots of ideas and I go to lots of cool bariatric meetings in the area. Talk to me! [email protected].

Hey sweetie =) I'm 21 years old and am having RNY Gastric Bypass on June 20!! Everyone's case is different so nobody but your surgeon and doctors can tell you if or when you should have it done. My close friend had it done when she was 18 and she thinks it's the best thing she has done for herself. The main thing you have to consider is, you're only 17 years old and you will have to live with whatever operation you get, for the rest of your life. Never go into a surgery thinking about "Well I can get it changed if I want"...you should go into each one thinking "can I live with this for the rest of my life?". I am very nervous about the surgery(completely normal) even though I have done hours and hours, days and days, and months and months of research. You should definitely take your time to do all the research you can. You do not want to get a surgery and then think afterward if it was the right one for you. You want to know the pros, cons, and possible complications of each surgery being done. For me, my BMI, weight, perfect health(besides morbid obesity), and age, my surgeons, doctors, and I decided that RNY Gastric Bypass would be the best option for my specific case. Also, the younger you are, the less chance of any complication you have, plus you have a huge chance of minimal extra skin afterwards. I already have my exercise program in place so I can build my muscle in order to tighten up the skin. I wish you the best of luck and I am always here to talk if you need it.
P.S. Remember that only YOU can know what you're capable of!
With Love,
Jessica

Honestly it wasnt as painful as i thought it was going to be. I am sore and healing but i am mobile i am only 5 days out and walking 1 hr a day...the only trouble i am having is i am really weak because my surgeon wants me on clear liquids for a week after surgery (every one is different) so by excersising and only drinking chrystal light and jello...takes alot out of me! but so far so good! when is your surgery?
