My name is laura and I am 35 years old. I am trying to locate a buddy to make this journey. I know that this is a journey that all of us have in common and therefore even though we are strangers to some extent we are all similiar in one way or another, we are striving to be healther and thinner. I know that there are members of my family that do not understand. I have tried many ways to explain the reasonings. They tend to respond you look fine and then we love u the way that you are. I know that. But no longer does that seem like enough to me. I am about 95% of the way to an approval from my insurance company. I find out on Monday morning the anxiety is going to get to me. I know that there are people in this world that have it worse then me andalso better than me. Hello Lacey, trust me I know that this is a very long journey to walk but it will all be worth it in the long run. I am 2 years post op and it took me a year to have the surgery just because of all the doctor's appointments. I was patient because I realized that I was doing this surgery for myself as well as my children. Family members do not understand because usually they don't know too much about the surgery and they have only heard or listen to the negative aspect of things regarding the gastric bypass. My family was the same way they just did not seem to understand. You have to know and believe that this surgery is for you and your health and yes you do need to talk to someone who is in your corner and who can give you that moral support. I didn't have any complications nor do I have any regrets about having the surgery.
