NE, Age 26 - Looking for some friends!
My name is Michele Newingham and I have been happily married to Matt since May of 2004. No kids yet. I had the RNY procedure on 2-13-06 at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. I am hope for another week and a half before I go back to work. I have a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and am currently working on getting my master's in Forensic Science (2nd year grad student).
I would love to make some new friends on here, whether you are in Nebraska or elsewhere.
You can email at [email protected] or simply respond through here --- which ever is fine with me. Thanks!
Michele
Hi Michele,
Well the funny thing is I am 25, my name is also Michelle (two LL's) I live in Northern California. I havent had surgery yet but I should begetting my date moved up from June 15th to the 2nd week or so in May. I am also married since Nov 1999 to my high school sweet heart (his name is Michael) We have not been blessed with any children thus far but we have tried for 6 years and no luck. So that is a big part of having WLS. Well, I thought since we are close in age it would be worth a shot to write you real quick. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi there! You can also email me at [email protected] -- I don't get to jump on the site as much as I would like.
I have hit a small plateau already, where I haven't lost any weight in about 2-3 weeks. My doctor however said that if you are smaller and need to lose less weight than a larger person, it comes off slower. Not exactly the news I wanted to hear, but it is happening. I can tell the difference b/c I had to buy new jeans over the weekend and I am down from a size 20 to a 16! I was so happy. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and I will tell you anything and everything about the surgery.
I will admit that there are days where I think to myself "why in the heck did I do this," but I know that I did it for a good reason. Having the surgery is definitely a mental struggle -- I am not happy with what I can't eat, but rather how much I can't eat. That is what got me in trouble in the first place!
I still can't eat chicken completely normal yet -- sometimes it comes back up. Other than that, I have been lucky to have had no complications.
Talk to you again soon..and again, feel free to email me directly!
Michele
