**Looking for e-buds to talk to**
Hi Everybody, my name is Jan, I am a 38 yr old female, very happily married, I have 4 children, 2 from prev marriage, my step son, and then my hubby and I have one together. All 4 live with us, so most of the time, I am a very busy mom. I am in the beginning stages of my weight loss journey. I have sent an appeal to BCBSMO for the wls, as it is medically necessary, but wls is listed as an exclusion on my policy. I have Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease and I live in pain every single day. I need both knees replaced, and eventually my hips...Hopefully, I will have the surgery and then can put off the other surgeries for years **sigh** keeping my fingers crossed. I would love to hear from anybody who wants an e-bud. I am a good listener, I am honest, I have a good sense of humor and I am generally a pretty happy and uplifting person. I dont have much support outside of my immediate family, as the friends I have had forever, do not understand what my life has been like, and do not believe in going this route. I am chosing to surround myself with people WHO DO UNDERSTAND and who I can relate to about issues regarding obesity.....and who can be supportive of me and my journey. I will do the same for you.
**I am looking for pen pals, from anywhere, who are honest, have a sense of humor and who I can share the journey with, whether you are pre-op or post-op. I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!
Hey Jan,
I'm also Jan and I'm also 38 and happily married. Soooo we already have alot in common. I have 2 girls (and that's enough) ha I too am in the beginning stages of this WLS journey. At this point I'm waiting on my insurance. Wait wait wait! That's hard for me so I come on here and read alot and it passes the time. It's also encouraging, don't ya think?
So welcome and I look forward to getting to know you and going through this together.
Hi Maureen and Jan, I have e-mailed both of you individually. I look forward to getting to know you!!
I am still waiting for my approval from Blue Cross. Every time I call to check on it, the reps tell me its an exclusion. I always remind them I am calling to see if its been approved yet-not for them to tell me what I already know, and hence, reason for the appeal in the first place. Medical necessity is just what its called-Medical Necessity and this certainly falls into that category. I do look forward to going through this whole process with people who feel the same way-the waiting, the frustration, fear, but then, the excitement, dreams, goals. Its going to be sooo great when we get to move forward!! We will....just gonna take time, and anything worth while, is worth waiting for (not too long tho-LOL) Take care, keep your chin up and I will tt you soon. Jan
