Hi. My name is Sherry and I am three years post-op. I have had very few problems and love my choice to have had surgery...but now I have stopped losing and started falling back into old habits. Anyone out there "been there, done that" "fixed that"? that is willing to chat about it? Thanks.

Hi Sherry I am 26 months post-op and I am have the same problems as you.I am starting to eat more and more and falling back to old habits.I am so mad at myself after coming so far.I was 598 lbs on my day of surgery and today I weigh 215 lbs and I have gained 5 lbs in the last 4 weeks.I am scared that I will gain the weight back.So we can talk and maybe help each other....no one told us what to do after we are this far out so we have to figure it out ourselves.Have a great night and email me any time.........steve

Hello Sherry! I am post-op as well (July 23, 2002)...I have lost 150 lbs and have plateaued but I am healthy and happy where I am right now...between 176-182... I know when I've done wrong...so I get back on track by looking at what I ate before (1 year ago) and just doing what I know is right. I don't deny myself anything!! I just make sure I follow up with lots of water...increase my protein and exercise... It's hard to get away from old habits, because we are only human! But, we didn't come this far to go back, did we? Do you keep before pics on your fridge? I have them in my wallett, at my workstation, on the fridge...always reminding me that I was given a second chance...not a silver bullett!!! The surgery was a tool, what good is a hammer or a saw, if we don't pick it up and physically use it? Feel free to respond...if you have instant messaging...maybe we could keep in contact that way too! Rose Hopper ObesityHelp Support Group Leader
