I am a 21 year old college freshman. I am seeing my dr. on october 4 for the consultation. I am a mother of one daughter. My name is Kira Howard. I am from Somerset kentucky, and will be having my surgery in Florence, Kentucky at St. Luke's Hospital. I am looking for someone that could be a listening ear, and provide some advice at times. I know from experience, that listening to my own advice gets me into trouble. My family doesn't really support me in the decision to have the surgery(RNY). They think it is the easy way out. and I know it's not. I need someone who understands where I am coming from, because it gets quite lonely when I am the only one in the family with weight problems.

I had my consult on 10/04/05. It went all right, but my surgeon wants me to pay $250 for a psych consult before I find out if medacaid will approve me for surgery. I am a broke college student on medacaid and food stamps. How am I supposed to come up with that kind of money? But Back to Basics...I would love to be your penpal. I have a pc at home but I don't have internet yet, so don't feel too bad...But I like to write and send drawings and pictures, so snail mail is perfectly fine with me.
