I'm 32 yr old female looking for penpal. Recently approved and am scheduled for my mandatory group session with Dr O'Malley in Rochester. Looking for someone to share my experiences with, I'm excited but terrified 
at the same time. Just need someone to chat with who is going through the same situation as I am. My family is very supportive; but I would like to chat 
with someone who is actually going to have the surgery as well.

My name is Nissah, and I am 32 years young in August and I am having surgery in August as my B-day present. I chose to have surgery on my b-day as a present to myself that I WILL always be grateful for.
I am not sure of where U R in the surgery process, but I found my process 2 B shorter than I was told and/or expected.
Those group sessions are VERY informative and I advise U 2 attend them. I started my journey in April 2005, although my first journey to WLS started in Feb. 2004 and I chickened out. Don't chicken out of the surgery.
I 2 am terrified and excited all at the same time. This is the point where things can get really frustrating and U will feel as if U can't go thru or take it anymore and will want 2 chicken out. Don't let anyone change your mind.
I am glad to hear that your family is supportive. My family WAS supportive, until they went 2 a meeting with me and heard the PROS and CONS of this surgery and now they think I am CRAZY and they are trying 2 talk me out of it. I am not listening to them at all. I am doing this for my health, well-being, quality of life, and so that I can

My mother especially, needs to have this surgery also, cause she is 55 years young, 5'1" and 213lbs which makes her OBESE, and she has many co-morbidities, but she does not want to hear it.
