Is anyone there?

My name is Carrie, I am 26 years old and from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have two little girls and a very loving husband. But, I desperately need help from someone who knows what it is like to be as heavy as me. My husband is tall and skinny, so he is not much help. I feel as though I am sinking and I am too fat to pull myself out of the water on my own. Today for me is an all time low. I hate leaving my house because people stare at me, and I hate how much energy it takes to get to one simple place. I am 5'4 and about 340 pounds. Hi Carrie, I feel your pain. I am about the same weight and am very much hoping for the surgery. are you contemplating surgery?

I have decided to have wls. I am now how ever in the position of having to wait for several years before actually having the surgery. I live in Alberta, Canada, and here there is a huge waiting list. I think the waiting part is going to really take its toll. I think that there comes a point in time where you need to admit that you need outside help. I was at this point many months ago. My family doctor is so happy that I had decided to have wls, he sent in the referal letter well over 6 months ago. We to this date have still yet to hear from what we thought was the only surgeon performing wls in Alberta. After joining this website I found out that there are two surgeons here in Alberta doing wls, and I have made another appointment with my family doctor for this tuesday to talk about the other surgeon. To think though that over 6 months has already been wasted while waiting to hear if I will even be seen my the surgeon is VERY frusterating. Maybe this is normal? I don't know.
