** I'm looking for a pal as I start my journey ....

I'm 26 years old and I live in Texas. I have finally decided that this is what I need to do in order to better my health. I have contacted a doctor and had all of my records forwarded over to him. They are now in the process of getting the Pre-Auth letter over to my insurance compnay. SO if anyone is going through the same process or if you've already been here then I would love to start chatting throughout this process.

Hi Jodi! I would love to be your penpal because I am going through the same process too. I am 23 years old and have decided this year to go for RNY. I just got a call today from the bariatric center that they are sending in my paperwork to the insurance company for approval and at the same time they set up my pre op teaching session because they said it shouldn't be challenged. Hi Jodi! I am 27 years old and live in Ft. Campbell, KY. I have my first consult with my surgeon on Wednesday and then my psyche evaluation on Friday, I am still waiting to set up my sleep study. Have you already done all of this stuff? Which surgery are you having? I would love to keep in touch and we could help each other any way possible. hi jodi! i live in ft worth tx, i am 4 wks post op and i had my surgery done in north richland hills w/ dr kim. i would be happy to help you in any way that i can. i am married and have 4 kids-his, mine, and ours. i am also 3o yrs old. i had the rny lap done last month. let me know if you have any questions

Dear Jodi: I too am in the process of trying to get all of my ducks in a row for the insurance company. It seems as though it takes forever for the insurance process to move thru for approval. I am 38 yrs old, married, 2 kids at home 8 and 11. I work full-time. I too would love to have a penpal to share experiences with. The ups and downs of this life long journey to have and live a healthier life not only for myself, but for my family and friends. I believe we need everyone's support whether it be family, friends around us or friends long distances. Support is my support. I wish you nothing but the best in your journey. Would love to be your pen pal.  I'm new to the site but have done several of the pre op "requirements" now and hopefully if all goes well I'm looing at an Aug surgery date.  You have taken the first steps good for you.  For me those first steps are the hardest.  Don't be discouraged by the insurance stuff, it's my experience that they can be slow to respond so don't give up.
