Weight Loss Journey Friends
Im in my early fifties and just beginning my WLS journey. I have my first appointment with the surgeon on June 17th so I am literally just getting started. I hope to get the gastric sleeve. Its hard for me to say but I have about 200 lbs to lose.I know this is not going to be an easy thing but I am determined to get to a "normal" weight.
I would like to have some friends who are going through the same process so we can encourage each other.

Hi Shelle -
I'm 53, and my RNY is scheduled for June 24th - just around the corner! It's been such an exciting journey so far, and I'm SO ready for the "rest of my life" to begin. You are at the beginning stages, and there are lots of hoops to jump through, but don't let that discourage you. Now that I'm on the 'other side' of all that, I can see the reasons for all the waiting. I originally was going to have Lap Band, but my surgeon talked me out of it (that plus doing more research, and reading tons of posts in the forums here), so I'm having the RNY. I have a friend who had the sleeve though, and she loves it!
