Pre-Op Looking for Email / PenPal Buddy
Hi there - I'm looking for an email buddy / penpal buddy. Someone who I can talk to about WLS, ups, down, and everything in between. I do not have many people who I feel I can talk openly with about this, so it'd be nice to have a friend who is either in the process to get WLS, or has already had it and just needs someone to talk to, support, etc...
About Me:
My name is Kari and I'm 30 years old from Michigan. I've been happily married to my high school sweetheart for almost 6 years (together 14 years). We have no children, but we currently have guardianship of our nephews, ages 12 & 13, so that has been quite interesting for us. They keep us on our toes!
I have been considering WLS for many years and have been researching on and off for the past few years. It has only been since we've gotten better insurance through DH's work that I decided to go forward with WLS. I am still in the early pre-op stage, but will be meeting up with the surgeon / nurse / dietician on January 29th.

Hi Kari. My name is Chenita and I am looking for some encouragement too. I started my PreOp on December 21st. I have accomplished alot but still have a ways to go. So I need as many email buddies as I can get. A little about me... I am 30 years old. Single with no kids, currently in school to persue a nursing degree. I have been researching the WL thing for about 4 years. I had planned on doing the Gastric Bypass but found out that with having the sleeve, I wouldn't have to take as many meds for the rest of my life.
I am going this for me. At first I felt as if I needed this for my parents to be happy, but I need to love myself more and make sure that I will be able to live with my new change. I have PCOS so by losing weight, there maybe a chance that I will be blessed one day with children, but not before I have a mate.
