  hi to Floridians!  I live in Port Orange Florida, looking for a pen pal...  I will be having RNY at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine in a month or so, still a couple of hoops to go thru.  My Surgeon is Dr. Marema, I have met with him and I approved him almost as he entered the room....!  I am 75, he did not bat an eye!  He has done over 7000 bariatric operations and he even had it himself earlier on!

OK ... May I please have your E-mail address?  My @#$%$% computer keeps cutting me off on my return posts.  I had a good one going!  Funny, too!  Don't feel funny , now....  Anyway sorry I am just now getting back to you, I have been busy jumping thru the last few hoops!

So ... Dr. Sebastien, lucky you, I have to go all the way up to St. Augustine to Flagler Hospital for Dr. Robert Marema.  Wonderful place, but rather be local ...  My Humana and Halifax do not see eye to eye.  So I have go trotting up there 4 or 5 times. 

My first date was to be August 31st, didn't have all the tests done in time so now it is Sept. 14th and I have doubts about it.  My pulminary test was fine, but same doc is my sleep doc and he is not happy with me.  I took my C-Pap mask back thinking I would not need it after surgery.  Seems I was wrong.  He is writing to tell my surgeon on me and I might have to do an overnite sleep test again.  I hate that.

So we will see.  I go to cardiologist today to get heart stuff explained and hope to God that goes well!  If not, it's back to the drawing boards with that, too.  Why the h--- didn't I lie and say mask and I were great friends.........which we were NOT!!

Let me know more about you ... what made you decide on wls at such a young age ...better now than wait till you only have maybe 20 years left!  That's ok tho, I will be healthier and more active and maybe enjoy my last few years!!  Bless us on our journey to a better life. write soon about you .... luv...Sam     [email protected]

You'll do great! My surgeon was Dr. Koppman in the same practice and Dr. M actually did part of my surgery.  It went great and Flager is incredible.  All of the WLS patients get the VIP rooms on the 8th floor.  Barb is one of the main nurses (she is called sarge).  I hope you do well.  Let us know!

This is the 1st time I have been back to pen pal forum ...  I am so sorry I did not get back to you sooner ...  But I am glad to finally meet you!  How long ago was your surgery?
Mine is now Oct. 17th, I could not get there on the 14th of Sept.  I am really looking to get on with my life, this is rebirth for me ... a new chance to be who I should have been.  Tho I do realize that all the roads I have trod were all the roads I had to trod to get to this place.  So be it!
Mybe I have 20 more years .... ok, new pen pal, write and tell some stuff about you, like where in PO do you live? I live in Dunlawton Hills ... Talk more later ....Samantha

Hi! I also live in Port Orange.  My surgery date is November 21st, being done by Dr. Sebastien. I will be finished with my Halifax classes the end of October. Would love to chat with anyone. I am getting nervous!!

We've probably ran into eachother a few times there.. Im usually the youngest person there (23). ..

I go on different evenings. Depends on my schedule with my daughters. They are 7 and 10. I was there this past Thursday. I think this week I am going on Monday. I'm the middle age one there! :-)
