Anyone in their 50's - I'm in Tennessee

I am so way beyond excited.  My VSG surgery is scheduled for Sept. 23rd, 2011. Would love to offer my friendship and make some WSL friends along the way.

Im 47 close to 50! Im just getting started on this journey had blood work done today I meet with the dietician ins person and the doctor on june 20th it will be left up to the insurance comp after that. I have bcbs of tn.

I meant to ask you where are you having your surgery at?

Hi Deborah! .. Sorry it took me a few days to respond. Just got home from a weekend at our lake house on Douglas lake.

I see you are in Tennessee, too. I am in Knoxville .. the suburb of Powell.  Would love to know if you live near Knoxville.

We have very good insurance with Aetna, but chose not to even start jumping through their hoops. I chose Dr. Guillermo Alvarz in Mexico based my own research AND on 3 close friends and their 3 other friends who have already gone to him for VSG surgery.

I had my ileosotmy surgery done 2 years ago at Vanderbilt. Small world, huh? Let me know if you get approval from BCBS.

I am 53 and about to have my RNY on monday 6/27/11.. I was excited too now just nail biting nervous and a train wreck about to happen!  I was wondering why you chose the vsg surgery? I am in california and visited your state once and was amazed by all the beautiful trees! have you ever been out this way?

I am an over 50 women who also has crohn's . I had my sleeve surgery in Oct 2011 in mexico . I am a canadian who lives in Nova Scotia and would love to talk with someone who also has had sleeve surgery . I have lost 50 lbs to date but things are slowing down . I am hungry!! Alot. I wonder if it is cravings or that i have never really let myself be normally hungry before. I crave sugar and chocolate for sure. Have you experienced more hunger as time went on after your surgery? I feel I am sabotaging my weight loss and certainly want to lose more weight, about 50 more lbs.

What's been your experience and how do you handle you food choices?
