Hi, I am looking for a penpal.  I am new here. I will be having RNY in November, getting kind of nervous...I could use some support.  Any new friends out there?

Hi Lisa,  I'm also in the Vancouver area and looking for a penpal.  I would love to hear about your experience so far, how you decided on the RNY, etc.

Hi! :)
I had my RNY done on 3-8-1999.

I remember feeling so nervous to have it done, but at the same time, I couldn't wait to get it over with.
Now I realize that this post is way after your surgery date and you are several months post-op now, but I hope that you are both doing well.
I'm in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and would love to get to know both of you. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions as I will answer them from my own personal experience that I have had with the RNY procedure and also from the perspective of a family member since my Mom had it done in 1988 by the same doctor that performed my surgery! :)

Once again, I hope that you are doing well,
Carri

Hi.. I'm having RNY surgery on 1/11/11 (maybe a good luck day??) and I was looking for people in my area.  I'm living in Central Oregon, but I used to live in Camas, WA about 5 years ago.
How are you doing after your RNY?  I'm soooo looking forward to my surgery, but also nervous.  I just want it DONE!  After going through 9 months of dr supervised dieting, sleep studies and so many numerous tests, I just want to be through with the surgery end of it.  It seems like my life has revovled around food for so long, but after hearing about getting in your water, protein, medications, etc, it seems like I'll be more in-tuned with food than I ever was.  Do you find it overwheming, or does it get easier with time.

Hope you are doing well.
