Hello everyone, looking for lapband buddy to help me through this.. Had lapband done 5-19-10 and need someone for encouragement and support.. Still not sure it was the best decision, hope that is something other people felt at first. Go to surgeon today and hope I can eat something, I am still on liquids and feel I need more.. Thanks for reading, Laurie

Hello Laurie!

I'm in Pennsylvania and am considering lap band surgery.  I would love to help you through this - although, at the present, I am not really qualified.  But, perhaps we could help eachother out!

Hi Laurie - from Pa in the lower part of the Poconos and would love to be your buddy for support.  Had Lapband on 11/02/09 and have lost 42. I am 56 and still looking for the magic pill.  Still is lots of work with or without surg.  Had 1 fill 6 weeks after surg (doc is conservative) and will have my second this thursday.  Nice to meet you.  Where are you from?

Margie

Hello there! Nice to meet you, sorry it took a bit to get back to you, in the process of moving so life is hectic... We just moved to Indiana, Pa... Not far from where we used to live... So busy remodeling and actually this is the last week we have to finish up with the old place that we rented ( cleaning it and a few odds and ends to move). I just went to my surgeons on thursday and have lost 30 pounds since the surgery on 5-19-10, have not had any fills yet, he says we will see next month how the weight loss is progressing. I think I have been so busy moving that I haven't had time to think about the weight ... I can eat almost anything, which is probably not good, but if I keep losing well thats okay I guess, how about you? You've done well it seems. How is the fill? Do you notice a difference? I have trouble chewing well so I do get things stuck which really hurts, I have to work on that... What do u do in the poconos? Family? I am married ( for the second and last time) and have a 20 year old daughter, I'm a nurse, I do pediatric home nursing and my husband works at a power plant.... Have to get back to work, its great that you responded and I hope we can go through this journey together, keep in touch, Laurie

Hello Laurie and Margie!

I'm sorry I haven't posted a reply soon, just got back from a wonderful family vacation at the Outer Banks of NC!  It was much needed - and just what the Dr. ordered!

I am 48 years old, married and live in north western Pennsylvania - close to Erie.  I have 2 adult sons (one married) and my first Grandson!  My children were on vacation and I loved spending the week with my Angel.

Congratulations Laurie for your success!!  I am hoping to say that too one day!  I am just beginning the Lap Band journey.  So far, I've contacted a Bariatric surgeon at Hamot Hospital in Erie, and have a "date" to attend a seminar on August 4.  I have heard that this part of the process can be very "taxing" - especially when you're anxious to get started!

Talk to you soon!
