Would like to find Lap Band pen pals in the Orlando, FL area

Hi!

I am currently living in West Virginia, waiting (more or less) patiently to have my band surgery- it will probably take place in mid-March.  In December, we bought a house in Deltona, and plan to move there permanently this fall.

I'd love to get in touch with some other bandsters living in the Orlando, FL area, so I can develop some new friends in advance of our move.  I'm also going to need a fill doctor down in that area, so I'd be very grateful for any recommendations for MD's you might know who is accepting new fill patients.  I have CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I hope you are doing well:) I would recommend Dr. Keith Kim at Celebration Hosp. He did my band and him and his support staff are all very nice and very helpful.

Would be very happy to be your pen pal...my surgery date has just been posted...NEXT FRIDAY!!!  I've been waiting about 8 months for all the preop stuff and insurance clearance, and I feel so ready :-)

Do you have any advice you think would be helpful for the immediate post-surgery period?

Wow!  I live in Deltona.  I was banded on 12/21/09.  I go to Fill Center of America in Tampa as I was a self pay and had gone to Mexico.  A lot of doctors here don't want to do the fills unless they did the surgery.  I love my doctor in Tampa.  She uses the fluroscope and she is wonderful.  She runs a support group for lapbanders also.  So everytime I go she gives me recipes and helpful hints.  I am not sure if they accept your insurance.
