Looking for Pen Pal who's RNY will be in Dec.
Hi Diane!
Thank you so much for replying to my post. I am really excited about this huge change. My older sister had the RNY last March and looks amazing! I know I could turn to her for things but I really wanted to connect with someone who was going through the same journey at the same time. I look forward to becoming your friend So have you made it through all of the hops yet?
Karen :o)

Hi Karen! I understand what you mean about talking to someone who is going through it at the same time. I would love to be your friend :) I did go through everything. Everything is completely done for me except for my final appointment where the doc will talk to me the last time and do a quick physical...oh and the hosp. appt, just to get information and such. I know it will come up fast. I am a little nervous about recovery, just because its so hard for me to do things now. Even rolling over in bed is a big task. I am hoping I wont have extreme pain when moving. I am glad to be having this operation though, because its going to save my life. I think we are both going to do just fine.
Keep in touch!

Hi Diane,
I am really looking forward to this amazing journey. I to am very nervous about the recovery. I have 2 small children Ava 4yo and Annie 20 mo. whom I will not be able to pick up and chase after etc. I just can't wrap it around my brain that I am going to be skinny! I have not weighed 135 lbs (my goal weight) since I was about 12 years old! Have you got the whole post op diet thing figured out? I remember making soup for my sister and adding protine powder to it. Then I froze it in ice cube trays. By the way, where do you live? I am about 35 miles north of Seattle :o)
Ciao,
Karen
Karen:
Yes I know! I havent been skinny since I was about 15 ...I cant wait. I havent even seen the pre op or post op diets yet. I have an appointment on nov. 24th and they are going to give me all of that. I have 3 children, but mine are all grown. My oldest was born when I was 18...hes in his 4 yr of college..he will have his bachlors in business and then he wants to attend law school to be a lawyer. My Middle child is 19 and she has my first grandson on feb. 3rd 2009. I am very very close to him and spoil him as much as I can...hey its a grandmas right lol!
my youngest is 18, and he just got out of highschool last year. He is attending college now, for criminal justice. He wants to be a state trooper. Things are a little rough for him. He has a part time job too, and he has a rare form of skin cancer. 3 days out of the week are dedicated to his photochemotherapy treatments. so thats tough...but hes excited for my surgury. We used to love going on park rides...rollercoasters ect.... but I cant now, because I am too big. I dont fit. But next summer we are going to go to a big theme park not too far away from us. I am going on those rides! Yes!
I live in Ny...upstate. Its not in the busy city part...>I live up north. ITS COLD!
