I am also a 47 year old from Ottawa. I recently decided to bite the bullet and go the surgery route. There is so much to know isn't there? Anyhow, I was with a bariatric place a year ago and went back to see that Dr. again. He filled out my paperwork for out of country and faxed it on Jan 4. I got the rejection at 12:00 on Friday, but my Doc said that he was contacting the Ministry in the afternoon and asked me to sit tight! At 5:00 pm I had another email from him saying that I might have a surgery date given to me as soon as Monday! I would love to have a pen pal while on this roller coaster. Have you heard anything from OHIP yet? BTW...I have 2 kids too - daughter 31 and son 26.
