looking for a pen pal ..
Hi Susan:
I am having the sleeve on October 1 -- less than a week now! Tomorrow I start all liquid pre-op diet. I am nervous, scared, excited and impatient all at once. I live in Dallas and have two kids, 3 and 8. I would love to make a friend who can relate to what I am going through!
How have your first several weeks been? Head hunger? Do you miss food? Are you able to cook for your kiddos without issue?

Hello,
Wow you are almost there!!! :) I was all of those things as well. I was lucky and my surgery was smooth..my recovery pretty much the same.minor bumps but small.. :)
I can relate and will any time you need me..
My first weeks have been great. I had only one episode of to much protein. Pain exploded in my stomach and chest..I think I cried for about 30 minutes before my body had enough and I threw up. Let me tell you I am more careful now. I always try to stop ahead of my full phase!!! Head hunger yes...Not to bad but a bit..just wish I was more creative with my mushy stage. As far as missing food..not really.I remeber when I was doing my liquid stage and one night I was cooking dinner and literally thought I was going to pass out just smelling the food. Now I can cook and I'm fine.I honestly thought it would bother me but it doesn't.I was a notorious picker as I cooked but now I really do not even have the urge.

Wow . . . I feel lots better, thanks! I had my last dinner tonight -- tomorrow all liquids. Thanks for your reply. I am worried about being able to cook and I "taste" alot, too. Sounds like you were able to work through that really fast. This time next week I will be home and surgery behind me -- you don't sound too miserable so I should be okay!
