Pen Pal - Anywhere - Live in PA though

I'm new to this and hoping to have my surgery around December.  Would love someone to talk to about this and keep me "sane" because I'm scared about having the surgery!

I am pre-op too but my date is comming and I have been on this journey for 4 years . Is there anything i can do?

I'm honestly not sure why I'm scared.  Some days I can't wait to have it done and wish I could drive the the hospital that day and do it and other days I get scared that something might happen and I'll die and have to leave my baby and my husband and stuff....

Wow - 4 years... thats crazy.  I'm glad you got a date.  I still have 2 months to go before I can submit my stuff to get a date.  But I'm told that they approve or deny you within 2 weeks of submitting so... we will see I guess.

I am in Western PA also, where r u having your surgery?  I wouldn't mind being supportive of you in any way I can.

I have a long and not normal story, so I won't get into it, but I don't see or hear of many folks with regrets.  So hang in there, it will be fine I am sure.

One year from now you will be laughing when you remember your fears.

I don't have a date set but when I do it should be sometime in December at Sweckley Hopsital.

I am having surgery on December 22nd! Seems like a million years away, but if you want a friend to chat with I could use one too.

Do you know what kind of procedure you'll be having yet?

Wow - at least you have a date.  Thats exciting stuff!  Sure, I'd love a friend to go through it with.  Hopefully I'll be approved in November and have the surgery sometime in december. 
I'm having the RYN or RNY or whatever it is... not the lap band, the other one. 

Hi Amy...I too share the feeling of being scared about the surgery because after all..IT IS SURGERY! I just started the process all over again (looked into WLS about 5-6 years ago and was too scared to follow thru). I'm a single parent of a teenager and I live in Eastern PA. I'm hoping to have a RNY in December as well. We have a lot in common.  I would love to be your penpal and we can go thru this together and encourage each other. I have a seminar to attend on 10/15th and then my appt for the surgeon on 10/21st. I'm EXCITED and nervous at the same time. Would love to hear from you...
