Looking for pen pal-Newbie
Hello to all
I am 34 years old and I have my pre op Appointment August 5th, 2009. I just want a pen pal to chat about the ups and downs of have WLS. I have read books and read articles on internet, but nothing is quite like hearing from someone who has had it done firsthand.
I am married and have two children that will be off to college in September, (sounds weird but I had them very young). I am also an English teacher at a middle school.
I would love to hear from anyone that has advice or anything important that a newbie should know about WLS. Please send me a private message (PM) for my email address.
Take care,
Gracie

hi gracie, my name is Lori . I am 41 and from Iowa. I am also new at this site . I am also maried no kids. You sound like you have done alot of researching which is good I also have done that. One thing I'm sure you know is to lose 20 pounds before surgery this will help the surgeon and make it easier on you.I had the duodenal switch donw on july 3rd it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Before then I was on diabetic medicine, and high blood pressure pills , I am now off them. MY surgery went well no problems the only small set back is some nauseau. After surgery they will tell you to get lots of protein i recommend unjury powder, I love it it taste like chocolate milk. Also another trick I found out is hot cocoa.
BEST OF LUCK GRACIE hope to hear from you soon Lori
