Hi Otter1977, thanks for the note. How are you doing since your surgery? Have you lost much weight?  I'd love to hear from you or write, to hear what you've experienced since the operation.

talk to you soon, Laurie .... my date is June 2nd and I'm having RNY too.

After my surgery I found things pretty tough.  I was pretty sick... so I've lost a ton of weight since my surgery... about 55 lbs.  My doctor doesn't offer a support group, so I've depended on my family mostly for support.  Thank goodness I have an amazing husband.  There are days I get pretty down, but for the most part I'm feeling pretty good.  I get tired easily though.

June isn't that far away... are you nervous/excited?

Hi,

sorry to hear things got pretty tough after surgery. I hope you are feeling better now.

I am excited, but nervous too.... want to be sure I do everything right as it sounds very serious if you become forgetful. I hope you are on a good path now or will be soon...

take care, hope to hear from you again . Laurie

Hi...thanks for the reply. You must be pretty excited are you? I'm having RNY on June 2nd.
Have you been to any support group meetings? I went to one last night and I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong the people were nice, it was mostly them talking personal stuff and not what I had expected to be discussing. I will give the other group a try and see how that works out. I hope you do great...
 all the best, Laurie

I am getting very excited, you? I don't even know if PG has any support groups. I know a couple of people who have had the surgery, and they have given me a little info, but basically I am just doing this solo. Who is doing your RNY? Is it still Dr. R?
