Looking for a penpal in VA, FL &/or OH
Hi...
I am 3 years post RNY. At the moment, I'm working in Virginia, spent the winter in Tampa, FL and have a home in Brunswick, OH, about 20 miles SW of Cleveland. I originally lost 162# in 18 months, but then got waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy off track and gained about 40 pounds back. With the assistance of the 5 day pouch test, I am back on track, I'm happy to say.
I would love to chat and email with fellow wls peeps.

Hi Barb,
What is the 5 day pouch test? I currently live in Virginia and had surgery 05/07. I have started to slow down (so far have lost 175 lbs) and have just 20 pounds left to put my BMI in the 'normal' weight category. Interested is seeing if I can jump start my last leg of this journey.
Thanks,
Annette
Hi Annette,
The 5 day pouch test is a way to check to see if your pouch is still working or to get it working again. I had gone off track for about a year, in which I ate what are called slider foods, i.e. casseroles, things with sauces that go right through your pouch, allowing you to eat more than you should. Here is the link:

Kay Bailey is the one who discovered this regimine. It really helped me get back on track, eating more dense protein, although with the hours I've been working I'm doing more protein shakes and bars than real food. With about 50 more pounds to lose to be in the"normal" category, I'm hoping to achieve that within the next few months.
Good luck and keep in touch,
Barb
