I am Valerie I am 24 years old I am from Winona MN I am havin Gastric Bypass Feb 4th 2009. I am goin at this alone and to be honest it is scary. My mom does not support me at all my Grandma does but she lives in Chicago and in this weather she can't drive up here. Hi Valerie,  I would love to chat with you.  I am 32 and from MA.  I am a single girl too.  The doctor though I would also have surgery in Feb but has not given me a date yet.  I see him again the last week in December. 

I was thinking about surgery 3 years ago and my mom freaked out.  I gave up.  I started the process again and know that I am doing the right thing.  I am thrilled and know this is the right decision for me.  I have not told my parents that I am going to have it yet because i wanted to get a litttle bit closer.  I think they will be happy in the end when I am healthy and happy.

Hello!  Would love to chat also.  I am hoping that I have my surgery in January..  Fingers Crossed.   I'm so ready and excited!  I live in Oklahoma!  How is the weather there in MN? Cold no doubt.
