Hi, Jeanie, I am 18 months post op and down 169 lbs. I was 373 at first appointment with UTMB-GAlveston. I had RNY. Day of purgery I was 354 and now I am 185-18 months later. I had to get the weight off to have both full knee replacements. I am almost 52 and have been on disabilty for nearly 5 years due to obesity and severe arthritis. I am now walking without a cane or walker. I feel great. I used to take meds for diabetis, high blood pressure, high cholectrol, acid reflux, pain pills for the arthritis, and anti-depressants. Now I take Nexium for the acid reflux and alpporinol for gout. I lost a lot of hair not getting enough protein, but now I keep a jar of reduced fat peanut butter, crackers and a knife by my chair. Good luck, Marilyn Clanton [email protected]
