Lap Band email buddy?

Hello, I'm looking for an email buddy who is also a bandster. I was banded 6-23-06. I'm 53 and would like to correspond with someone close to my age. I live in east Texas. I went into the hospital on 6-22-06 for gastric bypass. After the surgeon got a look at my guts, he was unable to do the procedure beacuse of so many adhesions. That is how I ended up with the band. It has been difficult because for months I prepared my mind for bypass. I'm okay with it now and believe there is a reason for everything. Hope to hear from someone soon. Ella

I am from East Texas too. I am waiting insurance approval for sleep study, then insurance approval for the lapband surgery. I am 42 and would to keep in touch with someone that has had the same surgery. Good luck with your weight loss. And yes everything does happen for a reason. Dawna

Hi Ella, I was banded exactly one month earlier than you and Im nearly 53 (gasp!). Ella I saw your message and wanted to ask some questions of someone who has had this surgery. I am trying to get info on what to do I have blue cross blue shield ins. I am not sure what it requires or even if it would pay or not. More important does this type of surgery work? I am 210 lbs never been so big ever and can not loose this weight.
