I would love to start a friendship with you . I had my open RNY in March of 2004. Everyday is still a struggle with food. I have another friend whom I am cheering on that is going through the very same thing you are. She is getting fustrated and wants to give up because of all the red tape the insurance company is putting her through. I cheer her on every day and I would like to do the very same thing for you. . DO NOT GIVE UP! Its easier said then done but DO NOT GIVE UP! Why is the insurance company making you wait 12 months? I think the red tape they put the patients through is B.S!! Hi Susan, My Name is Dawn and I am 10 months post-op and down 115lbs and loving it! I am 35 years old, married and have 2 kids ages 9 ( 10 in Aug.) and 13 ( 14 in June). Where abouts in Alabama are you? My parents live in Huntsville and My In-laws live in Athens. And I will be going down there in July! 12 months is a long time to wait,but let me tell you it is worth the wait! I am so glad I had the surgery, it has given me my life back, and let me tell ya i sure am living life now!
