I have Fibro and I got pregnant about 9 months post op. Ironically, no one would let me have any form of birth control and we had a defective batch of condoms...TMI I know...sorry. We had combined infertility before WLS, so it was a bit of a shock.
She came out fine. We were very lucky. But it caused problems with the weight loss. it stalled and I began to regain.
As for fibro, my experience was that the pregnancy was a golden period with very little pain other than the usual pregnancy gripes.
Good luck!
Tumeric and curcumin might help with the inflammation and pain, hubby has neuropathy and he says it seems to help him.., he takes it three times a day...get a good quality one.... there is a fibromyalgia relief formula that swansons sells, and he said it helped some as well.about 10$ a hundred, so not too expensive to try.. definitely take it slow and easy, be sure to do stretching and cool downs, these may minimize the injuries to your muscles. So how did your new job go? dh
actually, I found that I felt better on the pre-op diet. Of course no one told me until 2 days before the surgery that I could have up to 2 cups of green veggies...... lol
Fibromyalgia may be caused by SIBO - small intestine bacterial overgrowth. I know from experiance.
Antibiotics + diet really works for me. Diet is very restrictive but living without pain is worth the trouble..
Google SIBO + fibromyalgia... There are studies upon studies on that..

Fibromyalgia is diagnosed through symptoms. If you "meet" a certain number of a list of symptoms then it's a good chance that you have fibromyalgia. The diagnosis is done through a physical examination by the doctor. There have been studies on fibromyalgia but no one really knows that much about it still. Mine stems from a car accident in 1993 and I was finally diagnosed in 2003 after years of doctors telling me it's in my head and all I wanted was drugs, even though the drugs didn't work or even give me the slightest buzz including morphine.

Thank you. I have been to one appt. with physiatrist with yet another MRI pending. How is fibromyalgia diagnosed? Blood work or other means? Thank you for sharing info!

I've been to a physiatrist and they really didn't help me. I'm currently seeing Jeremy Adler at Pacific Pain Management Consultants. He discusses everything thoroughly with me. My meds have to be compounded since my system is rearranged now. The low dose natrexelone has really helped me with the Fibromyalgia pain, now we're working on my neck and back issues.

All of you speak of pain management physicians...are they Physiatrists? This not misspelled...I am not speaking of psychiatrist.
I want to be sure I have been directed to the right disciple of medicine. I too am dealing with chronic pain issues.
Thanks for sharing.

I am going to a pain doc here that definitely believes in Fibro and the first thing they did was do a genetic testing to see what meds I would respond to correctly. He understands the malabsortion issues that I now have.
came back that I can take all the opiods I want and they won't do any good because of genetics. I wondered why they never worked.
So now, I'm on lose dose naltrexone which has to be compounded because it doesn't come in the "low dose" formula.
I went through about 6 different "pain management programs" before I found this group.
Good luck
Very sorry to hear about your stomach :( Thank you for the lentil soup idea, I've never had it before.
