As for the food part, take it to bed. Nibble on something (within the allowed foods list) whenever your awake. I don't have CFS, just Fibro but I don't allow myself to stay in bed (okay so it's my husband that does the hard work of getting my butt out of bed), but once I'm up away from my bed, even if I'm exhausted I can usually stay away (may not be productive, but I'm awake).
You may have to find your "tough" and push yourself as far as you'll go. I'm not sure what else there is. I've always tried to live by the do what you gotta do no matter what...granted I'm not nearly as successful as I wish I was but sometimes the can-so attitude is just what you need.
Its been over six years since we've launched our forums. During this time it has seen thousands of fresh faces, greetings, meetings, partings, arguments, kind words, life transformations, cathartic rants, and simply happy time pass. It has been with us throughout this time, silently observing and facilitating. But like any wise old man, its bones were getting old. Its joints were aching, and it has been needing a new jolt of energy.
A Mobile World
Did you know that over 30% of you visit our website using a mobile device? For those who do visit us via mobile, we owe you a sincere apology, because our forums have been horrendous on a mobile browser. But the big news is that things are about to change! Our new forums are completely mobile friendly and compatible with iPhone, Android, and pretty much any other modern smart phone.
Each post, topic, and forum shows up beautifully, with the full set of features, and in nice large font. See the screenshots for yourself.
You dont have do anything different, just browse to the forums like you normally would. This means that you can finally put these away:
Not Just for Mobile
The interface on your desktop browser has also been cleaned up a great deal. There is now less clutter on the page, and the overall experience is a lot cleaner. Check out some more screenshots here!
You will notice that each post no longer has 400 buttons below it. Only the buttons that are relevant to each post show up, making your screen space a lot less cluttered. Also, when you reply to another person's post, the entire post is indented inside, making it a lot easier to figure out who has replied to whom.
Launching soon! Maybe as early as next week! Maybe.
And do remember that this is not in any way a be-all-end-all when it comes to the forums. We are in the process of constantly learning and improving upon what we have, and this is just one step along the way.
Stay tuned for the changes! We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

Now, ten years later I've managed to produce three beutiful little girls, added 140 lbs onto my body and hurt like the dickens everyday. Cymbalta, Lyrica, Ultram, Zoloft, and all of the other meds I've been on over the years haven't done anything for me except now I'm dependent upon them to keep me in a "normal" range of moods (not angry or depressed all of the time). Anyways the real reason i'm writing today has any of you who have had successful weight loss had relief in their Fibro issues?
I thank you for your time and comments.
I have been on Savella for probably 9 months or so. Savella has the same properties as an antidepressant (it has Serotonin in it). It is not listed as an antidepressant though. I suspect it isnt because if they do list it as an antidepressant, then they have to do more case studies & the numbers would change, also they kinda have a corner on the market listing it as a Fibro drug, since all the other Fibro meds are "technically" made for other ailments/diseases/conditions. When they put you on Savella, typically they titrate your dosage up & if you are on an antidepressant, they titrate you down. The reason for this is due to the Serotonin. If your body gets too much, you can get Serotonin Syndrome & I can tell you from experience SS is NO joke! I cannot take ANY antidressants or any other drug with Serotonin. My Psychiatrist had tried a low dosage of antidepressants because my Rhematologist insisted & I had a nasty case of the SS, so now he has me on another med that helps but is not an antidressant. I have trouble getting people & some Doctors to understand that the pain is NOT due to depression, the depression is due to the pain!
Savella does have some pretty intense side effects. I researched it before I started it & read ALOT of forums about it. A lot of people stop it because of the Side effects, but those that tough it out, have good results. To be honest, I had severe nausea & a blinding headache for almost 4 months. I am allergic to almost 50 meds, so I am limited on what I can take. I lived on Zofran! I decided to tough it out. I had been on Lyrica before, but it did nothing for me, but when I went back to my Rheumatologist
Put me on it again, it immediately made the nausea stop! The headache lasted a good 4 months, then gradually went away. The Savella has made a remarkable difference in my pain. Do I still hurt? Yes, but most of the pain I have now is because of another issue, not the FMS itself. Clear as mud? Haha! Sorry, my brain is no longer my friend & sometimes words fail me, describing things to people is not my forte! At least when I write (type!) it, I can pause & think till I find a word that fits. In person, yeahhhhh....not so much! Sometimes I sound like a babbling idiot.... So embarrassing!
I will also add that I had also tried Cymbalta before & it did nothing for me. IMHO Savella is worth a try, but do your homework & research it, familiarize yourself with the benefits VS the side effects & then make your decision on whether or not to stick with the med.
Hope this helps.Good luck,
Bonnie

It has to be even harder for you because you loved your profession, I was already "retired" in my late 30's. Hubby said I didn't have to work unless I wanted to. I was happy to leave my customer service job, even tho I liked it alot I had an 8 yr old girl and wanted to be there at home so she could have her friends come hangout and so I could keep an eye on her during her teen years. By the time she was past all that I had fibro, COPD (lung disease), arthritis and all the other stuff older folks get. I've recently developed some neurologic issues like neuropathy and some odd muscle and nerve reflex issues. Getting older isn't all it's cracked up to be,but it beats the alternative, on most days anyway.
It's perfectly normal to be angry with God and ask why, why, why me? It's even normal to question if He is really in your life and if he is why is he letting this happen? I'm sure we have all done that. All I can say is just because we are Christians doesn't mean God is going to give us a "good life", it just means He will be there to help us thru, if we let Him. I've had to learn to say NO to lots of people who were used to me being a go getter. I've had to learn to make alternative plans for activities I'd planned on doing, just in case I can't do them. I was recently all excited about starting an at home business making dog sweaters and other attire, I figuered I can do that at home and just go out on my good days and deliver to local shops. Nope I've been sick all summer with my lungs so I haven't been able to get out yet. So much for that idea! I'm guessing God wants me to spend more time sitting here reading His word. Not in my plan but that gets usurped by His plans. It's very hard and I know it's different for all of us. I just hope that in time you can get to a place where you can be comfortable where He wants you. Sometimes we don't have to like it, we just have to do it. My favorite saying to my daughter for many, many years. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make all of us better but we know how that story goes! God bless and I pray you can find some peace in all this drama that is our lives!
