Sorry you are having such a time. That is something my PCP is always pushing me about is getting exercise (he's a real health nut) but he does realize that with fibro we have to start slow and work up very gradually or we'll end up like you are right now. We have to remember not to jump in too gung-ho at first with exercise. Hope you get some rest and feel better over the weekend!

Well I've never had a hysterectomy but I sure do have fibro! My personal opinion is that any trauma to the body be it physical like a surgery or mental such as severe stress can cause the fibro to manifest or flare. Interested in seeing other opinions.

There is a new drug that was released in February.  It is called Savella.  It is a wonderful med for fibro.  I was one of the lucky ones to be in the trial studies.  I put in the study just after being diagnoised and was on it for a year.  The study ended along with the medication so my Dr put me on Lyrica and then Cymbalta after i complained of all the side effects.. (had just worked very hard at losing 100 pounds before the study ended.) with taking both of these i gained back almost 70 of the 100 pounds before the long term study came a long (1 yr later)  Since being back on Savella, i have been able to function almost as if I dont have fibromyalgia at all.  I would suggest asking your Dr about it.  I will never take the Lyrica nor Cymbalta again, the side effects to me are worse than the FM pain and would gladly pay full price for the Savella.  Im just thankful my insurance covers most of the cost.

I have included a link to a site that tells you more about the drug.

Reading you'll post in bring me back to reality  It has been along time I have been in so much pain.  I feel as though I'm back where I was 22 years ago.  I hurt like crazy, hate for HB to hold me the skin does hurt, body feel as though I have the flu.  There's no trigger point that does not hurt.  Ive been using my heating blanket for years(I can't count how many blankets I have owned), summer or winter.  No heavy anything on my body. I over did it this week and have trigger a major crises I haven't felt this way in years yearssss.Ever bone and muscles in my body is hurting, elbow everything. I've just got out of a heated tub and probably will he taking lots of showers.

All the time I've been on this journey I feel as though I have not gave it my 100%. I've lost 70lbs with no effort much at all.(always ate what I was suppose to on the menu for the stage that I was in.)
I have been thinking about TT this last month, found out we are about to change insurance.  So I decided to get to stepping to lose some inches while looking for a surgeon.  Well because I have been feeling so good with the weight lost I forgot about my FIBROMYAGIA  I started walking 3days ago and today my muscle in my legs are giving me so much trouble I take 2 step forward and 3 back
(really
)they are whipping me back to reality. I can barely stand on my own 2 feet. Now I no why I alway thought I was 1/2 stepping with my journey.  Not because I was 1/2 stepping it was the only thing that I could do in order not to feel so defeated(SP).  I'll probably be in bed for the next some days trying to get to walking (That's everyday walking it's killing me to do) the muscle are not letting me even get up.  I have no Rheumatologist he have left town, now I have to find a new one. THIS IS THE YEAR OF HAVE TO REPLACE DR'S.  including my RNY surgeon  left without me knowing.(Why is all the Dr's leaving without notice(if I needed to finish paiding them they would have notify meall records gone.Didn't even let the PC dr.s that he assignment to after surgery know. Was is the news paper and I don't get the news paper .  So there went my records he didn't even send any notice thru the mail nor thru our e-mail address they asked us for . OH Well. It' hurt to be trying to type this. If I can tell you what don't hurt I can get thru faster.  Anyone who have FIBROMYAGIA knows what I'm Trying to say that if I can even think straight.

The stress of brother with cancer,he was diagnose the same time Patrick Swazye was and  battling the same caner. It's one hell of a battle and I cry and holler all week.  With didn't help the Fribo at all .

HB is going to hang around while I try to get a soak in the tub be my luck I won't be able to be out on my own.
You'll that have fibromygia what have you"ll be doing lately.
BE BACK I'M GLAD IT THE WEEKEND AND HOPE MOST HAVE GONE HOME,FACEBOOK OR TWITTER SO THEY DON'T THINK i HAVE LOST MY MIND.

Topic: Hysterectomy & Fibromyalgia
How many women have Fibro that have had a full or partial hysterectomy?  I have noticed that quite a few women have fibro after the surgery.  I am one myself.  I read the profiles and I am just wondering if the surgery brings the fibro out full blown.  Do you think there is a connection.  Is it just with the hysterectomy or perhaps just any surgery?  I know trauma's and surgery bring it on, but I might be seeing a connection here.  What are your thoughts?  Thank you, Kristy

It appeares o be reputable, I recognize one of the docs from a book I read on fibro. With that said I personally would try to find a doc closer that will work with you if possible, just because it's easier to deal with a local doc. I took lyrica but it caused horrible weight gain, like I need any help in that area! I'm now on cymbalta and it's working great for now, quit often we have to change meds because we build up a tolerence.
Another thing to consider is quite often insurance companies don't cover these kind of holistic clinics so make sure they are a preferred provider or you could end up paying the whole bill. Best of luck to you!

Hi Karil,
I just got diagnosed about 2 yrs ago.  Since not everyone has the same symptoms, like the same trigger points, the best way to diagnose it, is if you have a "flu" like ache all over your body, even you hair hurts, just like when you have the flu.  And the 4 quads of your body hurt, your hips, left & right, your arms at the shoulders left & right.  They feel like you have strained every muscle in them and you can't lift them.  You feel of course, so weak and tired, you really can't move, let alone walk.  Any doctor can diagnose this condition.  Rheumy doctors can and will, but I just dx by my pcp and then got into a pain clinic for the pain management and that dr agreed it was Fibro.   A blood test won't detect it, so all the years I was complaining about my issues, before it came on full blown.  They thought there was nothing to find.  Well, really there isn't until the "Flu" like symptoms start.  That is when we know we have it.  My legs were weak and my muscles felt like they deteriating.  I use the Fentanyl patch 50mcg and Norco as a break through med. Congrats for the possible surgery date.
