Hi Pam,

I'm so sorry you are not getting the emotional support from your family. It's like geez, are we not allowed to have a bad day?  That is the time for you just to excuse yourself and vacate the room. It's not that they don't love and care for us, it's just that when our pain is so bad we just can't take it any longer, they try to manipulate us further to meet their own agendas.

Take Care

Lilli

Ask your Dr about Savella.  Its new and not in the NSAID class.  I dont have to stop taking it for my surgery.

Topic: RE: New med for Frib. Savella

Savella is WONDERFUL.  I would not take anything else to keep my fibro under control.  I was one of the lucky ones to get to be in the trial so I have been on it for almost 3 years now.  I was very excited to see it get FDA approval.  It is soooo much better than the Lyrica or Cymbalta alternatives.

I have not had any of the side effects I had with the others and can function 90% of the time.  I love it.

My rheumatologist have left town and I hate the thought of trying to fine someone else. The last person I talk to that have
Frib. was talking about how they have try several rheumatologist in the area and they have not gotten any relief from the pain.  And they pass them on with out any results and the thought of trying to let my PCP play with the meds scare me.  I just got a new med from my PCP today that is call
Savella.  I have try several other new meds with no good luck.  He informed me I'm his first patient to try this med.

Hi, late getting back here but since the last few month I've gotten a yeast infection I haven't had Ione in years.  And I had all kinds of problems trying to get rid of it. We traded one thing for another thing.

Have any of you'll yet to try Savella.  So many side affects almost  afraid to try it. This time of year I'm moody, depressed and lots of other things that included in the booklet.

Topic: RE: Has WLS helped your Fibro pain?
Sorry the bad news is it won't help the fibro, good news it probably WILL help the arthritis pain. My fibro gets worse every day no matter what I do and I'm on narcotic pain meds for it. What helps mine most is keeping a very low stress level and lots of stretching. I would suggest you see either a rheumatologist or a pain management clinic for your fibro pain they can help much more than your PCP can. Good luck and know you aren't alone in this icky boat called fibro!

This is a hard question to answer. I am 62 had WLS surgery in 06.
I had already had two total knee replacements, I have several serious issues with my neck, and spine. I cannot say that the surgery helped my fibro pain BUT I am glad that I had the surgery. I started at 470 and am about 325 now. That was enough loss to make me feel better in general and I can put my shoes on and move so much better. I could not walk or stand even a little while before I had to use a wheel chair and I could not breathe well. Now I can walk and stand a lot better and can breathe. So even though I don't think it helped my fibro it helped other things so I can deal with my fibro better. Plus my health is better no more thyroid med's, no blood pressure med's, no chlosterol med's, no asthma med's so surgery has made a big difference.
Good luck.

Topic: Has WLS helped your Fibro pain?
I have Fibro, arthritis and possibly a disease called Polymyositis and I was wondering if it has helped at all with your daily pain? If this even took 25% of my daily pain away I would be grateful. Thanks for you replies.
