Wow, Kristy, thanks for the help.
I never even thought it could be the fibro...but that makes sense.

I called the dr today, and got a new RX for Tramadol without the acet. so it will be small enough to swallow, i hope that helps.

thanks so much!!!

Topic: RE: new here.. tell me symptoms of fibro?
Hi Prayhardtoday,
I have already been dx with the fibro from 2 doctors.  I did have the trigger points, but not everyone has the same symptoms, such as the trigger points.  That is one way to dx this condition.  If I weren't on meds, I would still have the same pain the the trigger areas.  The fibro is also mixed in with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  A Rheumy doctor doesn't have to be the one to dx Fibro.  It isn't a joint issue, it is an overactive nerve problem which causes pain in the fiberous tissues found near the joints.  In the four quads. Hips and arms (left and right). I don't know why the nerves make it so painful in the fiberous tissues, but there isn't inflammation with Fibro either.  Just pain.  The checklist is just something I used to be able to explain and justify why I was feeling the way I was.  I didn't use it to self dx.  take care.

I wish I could be there to hold your hand and tell you it will be okay.  But, I know you need support so here I go.  Are you excercising late in the day?  Try to keep that to the morning.  With the weight that is coming off, your body is gaining more energy and doesn't know what to do with it.  And you are having fibro pain.  So, I suggest you tell your doctor you want pain meds for your fibro.  Narcotics work the best.  Try Norco, it is double the strength of Vicodin, but he can start you out on a low dose and bump it up over time and then try taking Tylenol PM.  But don't use Ambien.  The sleepwalking is not good.  Makes you eat in the nighttime.  Anyway, Start with those I mentioned.  I know the Fibro feeling makes it to where no matter how much you stretch or you shake your arms and legs the feeling doesn't go away.  So it will with a heavy duty med.  It might make you sleepy for awhile (not a bad thing right now) but it will go away after you get used to it.  So you pretty much have a triple whammy here.  Call your doctor today and TELL him you need a med for your fibro right now.  Make sure you call your PCP for the meds; not the surgeon.  Keep us posted.  Hugs to you. Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 9 years ago.  I felt like I had the flu and I also had shoulder problems but my chief complaint was I felt like had been riding a horse! My hips and butt hurt a lot.  I also had  frequent bladder infections, experienced reactions to strong smells and I couldn't stand being in large groups of people.  Lucky for me my primary dr. was out sick on the day I had an appt. with him because the dr. that filled in for him recognized the symptoms and referred me to a rheumatologist.

Kristy, I was on my way to check my files for that same link you just gave!  I think I had like 80+ checked on the checklist too!  And when the rheumatologist touched the trigger points, they were so tender I almost fainted with his touch.

Check out that checklist then talk to your dr. and get referred to a rheumatologist to get properly diagnosed.

Topic: RE: I suspect Fibro- obstacle for WLS?
My surgeon said that there is a correlation between the VSG and fibro.  it's supposed to help.  I have fibro and I began to have a lot more issues a while back with pain & tiredness consistently more than usual.  My PCP ran blood tests that came back positive for Lupus  but with further testing we found that that was false.  I was later diagnosed with rheumatoid arthitis,.  I definitely plan on having the VSG so that I can take pain meds!!!

Hi go to this link.  It has about 142 on the check list, and I checked  87 or something like that.  It is a very good check off list for you to take to your doctor.  Let me know if you are not able to open it. or just write it down.  I'd like to hear what you thoughts are on the symptom check off list.  Please let me know.  Kristy

Topic: Sleep study results
I didn't need a sleep study for my wls, but the rhuemy wanted it for my diagnosis.  I went to get the results yesterday...I don't have apnea, which I knew I didn't.  Doc said I was too skinny for that...Which made me about fall out of my chair!  But I may have issues with RLS.  I had 42 isolated leg jerks and 43 periodic leg movements.

Tomorrow I see the Rhuemy again.  Wish me luck for some resolution.  I told hubby,  I don't care what it is, as long as they tell me something.
