Adrenal Fatigue?

HI,
I am not sure this is the "right" forum for my problem, but I had to share it somewhere. I had VSG 2 years ago in Mexico, did GREAT up until 4 months ago...at the time I was riding bikes 4-5 times a week, now I stay in bed almost all day.  I am weak, achy, foggy, blurred vision, low BP...89/44 or lower...have had blood work by my family doc, she says it looks pretty good and told me to drink Gatorade and V-8 juice.  Meanwhile, I am getting NO better...It is MUCH worse after a stressful day...I will be in bed for 2-3 days to re-coup...I am looking into adrenal fatigue and have asked my doc to refer me to another doctor, since I have been seeing her for 11 weeks now with NO improvment.
I would LOVE advice!  I am beginning to feel hopeless, I am only 41 years old, yet I feel like I am 141!  No one seems to understand...I don't even understand...HELP ME PLEASE,
Tonya

Tonya im so sorry i know this feeling that is a very low blood preasure low and high blood preasures do diffrent things to diffrent people. I would see some kind of doctor but until you get there try this for your low blood preasure. drink alot of water after drinking as much as you can check your blood preasure and see if its up alittle. If it is maybe your not drinking enough plus if you check your blood preasure at home as i do maybe you need a new machine. just to make sure its reading right as for the fog and fatigue we have all been though this hear if your thinking you have fibro do you also have soar tender points. When you go to the doctor write down all that you are feel doctors dont allways understand if everything is related and some want to treat every thin seprate instead of together. now back to the bp. I have fibro i hve not as of yet had my wls i am allways tired i am weak and my blood preasure goes from high to low when im at rest my blood preasure will get really low but will also get to low if im not drinking alot.

First of all THANK YOU!!!!!
I am looking into all of these ideas...at this point, getting a new doctor is a no brainer...I have asked for a referal, but don't really know what type of doctor I need...?...I may go to a local gastric surgeon or an endocrinologist...?..
I am calling this morning to request a copy of my lab results.  How can I learn to "read" them?
I know we all have different opinions and ideas and I WELCOME EVERY IDEA...I spent the morning soaking in a HOT Epson Salt bath and crying, because I am so very tired of feeling so very tired and hurting so bad.  When I got out I had to explain to my kids why Mommy was sooo upset.  Now I have sprayed my shoulders and back with menthol and taken a tylonol and may be able to survive another day.  On a good note my blood pressure is up this morning 133/65, so I am not dizzy.
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!
Love,

Well I'd say you are in the right spot! I'm not sure about the adrenal issue but I believe that can also be part of the fibro syndrome. Sounds like you may also have chronic fatigue which often goes along with the fibro. I would see a rheumatologist or pain specialist about the fibro but before you actually see one ask if they deal with fibro, some do and others just don't believe it exists. The tender points are one way to tell if it is fibro. I know my PCP sent me to a rheum and he did like a 2 hr. in depth exam. If anyone brushes you off keep trying till you find someone who will believe you and treat you. Best of luck to you and we are always here to help if we can!

The endocrinologist called and said he did NOT treat adrenal fatigue and he would not see me...so I guess I am back to square one...
Meanwhile, my halter monitor shows a low pulse, under 40 for more than 16 hours a day...and I continue to have fainting spells and extreme fatigue, shortness of breath...HELP!!

Thanks for all advice!

Hi Tonya,

I've been dealing with Endocrinologists for over 17 years due to having Cushings Disease. Most mainstream Endos don't recognize Adrenal Fatigue as a true illness, unfortunately.  It's very frustrating.  The best thing to do is to find a Naturopathic doctor.  Do a search on the Internet for one in your area.  Good Luck!

Well that sounds odd, I don't suppose he was kind enough to tell you who would treat that! What a jerk!! Sounds like maybe a cardiologist is what you need if you are having such a low pulse and fainting. Trust me I well know that hopeless feeling! I have so many diseases that I could be a medical encyclopedia. What bothers me the most is my COPD a lung disease. I can't walk but maybe 20 feet before I run out of air yet I can't get portable oxygen because when I test sitting down my tests are fine!!! So I'm stuck in this catch 22 syndrome where I can't breath but I also can't get air. I finally have a pulmonary doc though that is doing all kinds of testing and has found I have an oddball bacteria that we all have but instead of just being there mine is growing and basically clogging up my lungs. So I'll have to do antibiotics for 12-18 mos. and that doesn't guarantee a cure. It sucks getting older, inside I feel 20 but the outside is falling apart! I hope your monitor gets you some treatment. You are always welcome here!

Sorry to hear your not feeling good Tonya and I hope you get to the bottom of it soon. You say you had a holter moniter showing a pulse of 40 .Who ordered the holter moniter? I would hazard a guess you have a Heart Arrythmia ,so If I were you I would try to see a cardiologist .
