I have read about the sleep mask helping . But I never expected it to. I got one for my daughter and I thought well I will try one.It is amazing I slept late 2 morning now and have not been able to for years. If it helps me sleep sounder and longer (when I can) I love it.

I use one too! First tried one when I spent a week in the hospital, just try to sleep there! It worked great and coupled with ear plugs I can sleep for days! I can get them at the local $1 store for a buck so can't beat that. I'd urge others to give it a try if they have difficulty sleeping.

One thing that I have found is that since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and have gotten a CPAP machine my nights are so much better.

I also use a heated mattress pad and yes a heated blanket.  The warmth really soothes the muscles and I'm so much better in the morning.

I've had Fibro since 1979, way before it was even recognized as a disease.  PAIN, PAIN EACH AND EVERY DAY.  But on I go

Will never get back to my right weight but I need to lose a lot....

Sue welcome!!
When i used a heated blanket it did feel good. I am not using one now.Infact since my shoulder surgeryt in April 10 I am sleeping in the recliner. I hope to get back to the bed. But when I lay down and it all hurts and the fibro hurt who could sleep????
I think I had fibro as a teen .I always remember feeling more tired and my mom said I always needed more sleep.
Post often  fibro sister.

I've got a heated throw for when I'm out on my recliner couch.  I use it on my worst days.  They only stay on for 3 hours though so you might want to grab a twin but get it quick before they are out of the stores and you have to wait for next winter.

Sue that is a good idea to get a twin heated blanket I might just do that !! If even I have to use 2 blankets it is hard to move them.. So one heated blanket might work. My arms are getting useless..My right one I had a total shoulder replacement,April of 2010. It still is not good. My left one has a lot of bone spurs he wanted to go in and clean that out. I do not want any nmore surgeries. So now my arms are both bad.
I never thought of my arms bad becuase I had my knees done and my back is bad. Oh well.....

So far I've had no Joint problems requiring replacement.  But with every ache and pain that this fibro has brought me... First only my legs and hips but now I've worked my way up my body to my neck pretty soon it will include my face and ears LOL 24/7 always with pain and with my severe memory problems I'm only able to take Tylenol with my regular meds.  So I try to stay distracted as much as possible.  Good grief when I have a toothache I can't even tell from which tooth it's coming, drives my dentists crazy LOL.  I hope things go well for you and really look at those future surgeries...  I know it's a headache but will your QUALITY OF LIFE  improve?

My mom needs surgery on her knee and she's balking. She's always been an active person, here there and everywhere and it's pretty much stopped now.  She truely would be happy to be back out doing things.  I know I wish SHE would.  Talk to your children and see what they think and maybe a second opinion from a different doctor too.

Thanks for being there
