I would guess that fibro has caused all of us to gain weight to some extent because like you say it plain hurts to exercise. I know I have to really force myself to even get out of bed some days. This is also a tuff time of year to get back on track. Myself I've set Jan.1 as get back to work day. Don't beat yourself up for gaining especially if you are dealing with sciatica. Just try to take it one day at a time and be kind to yourself!

I am in exactly the same boat.  My lowest weight was 167 and I am back up to 215!  The fibro is so bad I can hardly get out of bed let alone exercise.  The cold weather doesn't help either.  If you find anything that helps let me know

I have had fibro for well over 12 years probably closer to 15 and I gained 100 # over that time .  I am working very hard to get it off  with trying to get 3 of my protein shakes day in and avoiding white sugar and white  flour. I have gone from 315# to 281#  the last 6 months.  it is hard but if I am good during the week I can have a meal "off" and eat  small amounts of what I want.
I am also going to the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue center (the closest one is in Pittsburgh for me)  I have met women who are going through the same things I do and a Doctor and the staff that knows and understands what we go thru. I found out my thyroid is part of my problem.
I went on a preop diet for support when my daughter had surgery and I found out there is head hunger and stomach hunger as I could feel like I was filling up stop and be hungry in less than 5 minutes.  I asked around and I was not the only one.  now I do not always listen to the hunger, unless the low blood sugar symptoms begin with it.
I am not having the surgery for now as my fibromyalgia doctor felt it would return my fibro symptoms, My surgeon told me that surgery did nothing for fibro pain but may help the arthritis pain in my knees( that is so much better with the new medicine for the fibro.  I am working very hard for now but may reconsider surgery in a few months, I just do not want that daily pain of 5/7 out of a 1/10 pain scale again.  Good luck

goodness yes i know what your talking about.  I thought it was only me going thru this. I havent been on here in a few years. I am 8 years post op. Once my Neurotin was increased this last time, and my savela was added my weight was coming on strong.  During this time i had 22 teeth removed for dentures..btw keep your vitamin d up, this is why all my teeth broke at the gum and had to be removed.
So back to what i was saying.  My diet hadnt changed much at all.  I am a frozen grape junkie. i keep my sweets way down, I am so scared that i will gain more.  14 months post op i had my ps, in the end i was 108lbs and size 0. Very ill. i had to gain.  i did.
Recently we had a fire, and lost everything.  i had to go buy clothes.  Do you know what it feels like to have to get into a size 14/16 again! I am freaking out.  seriously freaking out

oh yeah as many of us have said it is so tiring to wanna work out or do anything for that matter. and on the days you think your up for it it hurts so much to even walk for 10 mins. i was on cymbalta and taken off and put on savella and elavil to help sleep. but so far nothing. i continue to be patient and have faith that it will get better. i've gained over 13 lbs in less than a month scary and have an appt to discuss my options before i get heavier. just not to sure if i'm at that weight i need to be to qualify for the lap band. knowing how strict insurance is and all but i just dont wanna get as heavy as i have once been.

Swimming in a warm pool is very benefical for fibro. I hired a trainer at my gym to  teach me exercises I can do. I can even jog in the water.  I lost 40 lbs over 2 years with swimming.  I hate to put my face in the water so she taught me how to swim with my face up.  I also just float and relax - great for destressing!  One time, however, I wasfloating and trying to completey relax every muscle in my body, and someone thought I was dead and called 911!  I had a hard time convincing them I was ok!

I've had fibro for 12 yrs now.  I have tried all kinds of medications. I weighed 180 after I gave birth to my 6th child. The fibro flared up after the birth. I went to the doctors and they prescribed me Trazodone for sleep and Celexa for depression. I gained 60 lbs. I can't seem to get the weight off after 8 yrs.(I have been on different meds through the 8 yrs)  I now weigh 250. I started looking into wls again but i am afraid of what will happen after the surgery (if I get approved). I guess I have to weigh the pros and cons. At least in the summer I would be able to do things with my kids and grandchildren.  I hope your surgery goes well and good luck!
