Lyrica post surgery

Has anyone had problems taking lyrica after an RNY?  I'm planning surgery for mid-January and am concerned about whether I can take lyrica and whether it will as effective.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well I tried lyrica this summer and it made my heart beat so irregular that we had to stop it. That was not becuase of my RNY though..

I had to be taken off lyrica immediately following surgery due to endocrine issues.  I don't  care...I am so much healthier now.

I was given Lyrica last Jan for fibro.   It caused me to crave carbs and I gained weight.  Then I had some heart issues and now I'm being treated for Graves disease.

All of the above isn't solely Lyrica, but I'm doing better on other meds

I had Rny 11-16-10. I had been taking Lyrcia before and then 6 days after the surgery my GP put me back on it and I have not had any problems

I am pre-op, but just giving my two cents... if Lyrica doesn't work for you after surgery, can always switch to Neurontin. Same family of drugs with similar effects. I'm not a doc or pharmacist, but I know that I couldn't take Lyrica snd Neurontin works just fine for me.
