Feet hurt so bad.......
Hi all, I have never posted on here before. I have been diagnosed with fibro a few months back. My body aches at times but my feet hurt soooo bad that I have a hard time getting around. Once I get going, they still hurt but can walk slowly. When I sit down or go to bed....OMG!!!! I have such burning and throbbing it is terrible. I am on 100mg lyrica 3x a day. I had the shock and pin test and my neuro doc found some nerve damage and sent me for glucose tolerance test but do not go bac****il the first week in November. The pain is unbearable at times. Any suggestions?
Thanks everyone!!!!!
Thanks everyone!!!!!
I know the feeling, I have foot pain too! I've had surgeries on both feet and I guess they are full of arthritis too according to the surgeon. This may sound silly but I put Icy Hot on them several times a day and it helps quite a bit. There is one that's a gel and doesn't smell hardly at all so you don't have that aroma following you all day. Or maybe try soaking them in ho****er whenever you can, heat usually helps the pain. If there is nerve damage you might ask about neurotin, it's used to help with nerve pain like in shingles and neuropathy. Good luck and at least you know you aren't alone!
i, too, have fibro and type ii diabetes along with it..i have severe tingling in my feet, shooting pains that i call "lightening bolts", and pain that i fear getting up and walking...actually i do not know if pain/tingling is from fibro, arthritis, or neuropathy or all 3; i have been on neurontin for several years now and it has not stopped the discomfort, i haven't asked my pcp for lyrica yet...my poor 14 yo son has to massage my feet for me 2 x daily for some ease in the pain...soaking does not help either; i am like u, any new suggestions?

I had hot knife like and burningf pain in my feet, legs and arms. I was put on nuerotin at fist then switched to lyrica now being tapered down on lyrica due to the weight gain issues related to it. On the lower dose I have occaisional break threws, really paniced when he told me he was origionaly taking me off because when it hits there is nothing I can do but cry it can get so bad. He relented and put me on a low dose. That type of pain is a nerve pain most pain meds do not help it. Glad the lido patches help for you.
it is so hard to know where the pain is comming from. When I have an asthsma flare my muscles in my ribs hurt so they put on the telemary pack and do the blood work for cardiac even though I protest and tell them just needtoradol to settle it. I would see a foot specialist as it could be your arches even as well as the rest !
If you're feet don't hurt as much once you start walking then might I suggest getting orthotics custom made but they will take time to make the problem better. I have used splints inthe past when I am sleeping, they keep the foot stretched out as if you were walking on them and prevent the inital pain from recurring when you first stand up. I also found that when mine are really bad I use a walking boot. You can wear it inside and out and it's used like a cast for sparains and breaks but once you have it on you pump air into it so it fits snuggly and keeps you walking on a cushion. Sometimes the added rest it gives you is all you need for a week or 2. The are quite bulke though, like a ski boot but it is comfortable!
I have custom made richie braces I wear every day with out I would be unable to walk by now as my arches fell and I now walk on my ankles. Wish I had been sent to the pediotrist the first time instead of an orthropedic surgen I could have improved my quality of life sooner and may still be able to work.
