Had a bad night

Hey all,

First time that I have come to the Fibromyalgia Forum but not first time in OH.

I had a bad night and this morning I could hardly roll out of bed or walk or get down the stairs.  I have to go see my doc this afternoon as my work now requires a Dr's note for me being away. I've used up all my sick time already and this will end up being leave without pay once again.

I am a single parent and no way can I afford to lose this $$.

My bosses and I have already 'talked' about  my 'situation'.  They had asked if I wanted to go to part time wor****il I feel better. 1.) I cannot afford to only work part time and 2.) I am not going to 'feel' better anytime soon.

Not sure what its like in the states but I would like to look and see what I can do here in Canada about work and such.

Any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!!

Are you on any medication yet for the fibro? That can help alot, I take cymbalta and it's been really helpful. There are lots of meds that can help just depends on which one works for you, we're all different that way. Don't know about work wise cause I've been out of the work force for years. Wish you the best!

hot showers can help the muscle pain but remember they are for pain control so don't just get clean and leave let the warmth get don to your bones !  A Mid wife told me that the shower can be help pain up to as much as 50 of demoral as it releases the natural endorfins your body makes that love the receptor sites pain medicines do.  Get plenty of sleep as the symptoms ill flare when you are tired.  She a rhumatoligish or find a fibromyalgia clinic for treatment (and they will also run blood test to treat other triggers)
Good luck

Do you have anything that is equivalent to our FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)?  Are you seeing a Rheumatologist for your Fibromyalgia?

I am still working but reading your post about your bad night and morning, I can totally relate to you. There are just some days that you just can't make it in. I know I have to force myself to go in and suffer throughout the day. I can't afford not to work either. Have you asked your employer to see if they can give you a modified schedule? Or is there a way you can work from home on certain days?

I wish you all the luck and know you aren't alone out here!

Taking one day at a time.
