Call around to some local senior's services (yeah, I know you're only 22, but on the inside we're all 80).  Many seniors have volunteers who do grocery shopping for them.  If you give them your sob story, they may hook you up with somebody who will do your shopping for you.

No more advice hon just a big gentle hug! I'm putting you on my prayer list because when all else fails God will come thru. I pray you'll get into the neurologist and that he will be the one who figures all this out for you and get you relief. Bless you and keep coming here, we're always here for you to cry on our shoulders.

I went to physical therapy today. I hope that it helps. I see my pain dr on wednesday. I don't know what he is going to say. I don't understand why nothing works and the stuff that does wears off in 2 hours. WHY???? They don't understand this. Anybody know of any articles about medication malabsorbtion or something that i can show my dr?? I am miserable.

Have you had your vitamin levels checked? You maybe very vitamin deficient! One of the leaders here quit taking her vitamins and she got some of the same symptoms. She was low on iron and Vit B12 and was in the hospital with infusions. Start taking a multipe bariatric vitamin morning and night and Vit D dry tabs at least 10,000 units a day and sublingual B12 2 a day. If you;ve had bariatric surgery you were told to take your vitamins because we don;t absorb things like a normal person and we don't eat enough. These problems sneek up and if not treated soon will  cause permenant damage get to your Dr, NOW and have him do the labs that are recommended on the Board.  I know I have Fibromyalgia and more than twice your age nd if I don;t take my vitamins and magnesium I get crippled up and in great pain and was in a fog in a very crisis situation that I neede d to be on top of. That's when I learned my lesson. Get Help and hopefully the damage is reversible.

Have they tried putting you on the patch? I'm on the fentanyl patch which delivers a constant dose of pain medication and I change it every 48 hours. I take narcotics for break through pain and it helps. The thing with Chronic pain that most Dr's don't get is that short term meds do nothing for it, you need round the clock pain management. I used to take Opana but since having WLS and not being able to take extended release they put me on the patch. It doesn't take the pain away but it does help some.
I'm sorry you have to go through this, I know it's horrible. I spent most of my 20's being treated like a pill chaser. I hope and pray you are able to find something that works.

Hi figure0156! I am so sorry to hear how much pain you are in! Your not alone in this fight. I'm in pain all the time as well! I suffer from fibromyalgia. For years doctors have tried everything there was even had me on morphine did nothing at all. I even tried weed HA what a joke! Didn't do much. My doctors told me in 2007 they couldn't do anything they tried it all. They gave up on me. In 2008 my doctor meet with a pain specialist  he told my doctor about 2 mediction that alot have tried together its like any other meds works for some but I thought maybe they can tried it on you! They are cesamet (nabilone) for pain and amitarptyline for sleeping and pain. I hope they can help!!  I fall sometimes use to be alot but still fall...I'm in a chair since 2006. I can't do anything without help.  Wish I could help some hun. Take care of your self!

Hi, I have been a member of this forum for awhile, but I haven't posted for some time.  I read your posts, and we have all been in your shoes at some point in time.  It is so hard to get the right help.  I can relate to when you said your hands don't move and just curl up.  I sometimes feel like a person with Cerebral Palsy.  (no offense to anyone, just the way my limbs sit).  Sometimes they are paralized too.  But, I want to tell you that I finally found a good med combo that took a long time to get.  I had tried Darvocet, Vicodin, Cymbalta, for relief.  I am now using the Duragesic Fentanyl pain patch and Norco (it is the strong version of Vicodin).  I had gastric bypass, so I opted for the pain patch since it is absorbed through the skin, I don't waste it, like the pills.  I take the Norco as a break through.  I would have to take so many pain pills only to get relief for just a few hours; it was crazy.  Before I found my combo, I too; was in bed for a long time, not able to move much or shower.  It was horrible.  Dr.'s don't understand when we have had weight lose surgery (I had RNY 4.5 yrs ago) that we absorb only have of our meds, vitamins etc, so they don't give us the amount that we really need to take.  That is why I opted for the pain patch.  So I hope that since you're in a pain or seeing a pain dr, that you can request these meds.  I like the patch, I put it on and forget for 72hrs.  Change your doctor, and tell them this is the combo you want to try.  I finally had to tell the doctor what I wanted.  They don't understand how deep the is.............they think a little Tylenol will make it better.  Check out my profile and follow my journey.  It is encouraging, so I hope I was able to help you with a medication combo.  Best wishes to you.

I had the same symptoms. I couldn't put a sentance together. Last week I slept four days in a row! My husband says I was like in a stupor!

When I went back to the surgeon that did my WLS I discovered that I was deficient in calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin B1 and protein.

My doctor put me on mega-doses of these nutrients and I improved noticably within 24 hours!. Every day gets better. I still take pain meds - which I had to fight for - but I take much less and not all the time.

Check out the nutritional angle. Hope you find some help.

My wife is a long term sufferer. None of those therapies work. The Tylenol in large quantities with damage your liver over time. The Lyrica really wrecked her. It did more damage than the Fibro but everyone is different. The only thing that seems to be helpful is my massaging her and when she manages to excercise and stretch. With Fibro you have to cure yourself by getting to a healthier state. Modern medicine has nothing to really offer I am sorry to say. Peace and good health.
