Meniere's Disease?
Long before I had my WLS I was dianosed with arthritis and fibromyalgia. My pain is so bad from the FB that I wear a pain patch to help control it. After my surgery in 05 , I developed some ongoing problems thought to be related to the surgery.
In December 08, I had Septic Shock and was in the hospital for quite some time with that and then the recovery from it. At that time I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. What a blessing to finally be diagnosed with something that I am getting treatment for.
I am wondering if anyone else on here has Meniere's Disease? Vertigo? Tennitis? Dizzy and throwing up everyday? It could be Meniere's.

Hi Thorney:
I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease about five years ago. It progressed from an occasional dizzy spell to full blown vertigo. I took zanax for awhile, which seemed to help. But ultimately, I had to have a labrinthectomy in my left ear. The only thing I hear in that ear now is the tinnitus - which seems to increase when I'm stressed or in pain. The vertigo went away when I had the surgery but lately I've been having periods of dizziness - probably due to the meds I'm on for fibro among other things.
My Meniere's was diagnosed after I had a bout with a virus. Yes, it was a relief to have a diagnosis, much like with fibro - having some validation for your symptoms is better - IMHO.
I'm not sure if any of this will help, but if you have any questions, I'm here. Not often, but I'm here.

I was offically diag with Meinere's dis in 1982, fibro in 1995.BUT I have always had them both I think just sometimes worse than others.
I had not had severe Vertigo for years and this past April I had a shoulder replacement and my vertigo was horrible for over a month...I had to take dramine 3-4 times a day it seems better now. But the worse part is to never know when it will act up.

I have Meniere's too and have had it for quite some time. I get the mosquitos in the ear and lots of dizziness. The people at work just laugh at me now when I walk through a door and don't quite make it and walk right into the door frame. Gotta admit it is amusing to watch sometimes... They are not quite as amused when I'm basically clutching the wall to get to my desk or I can't manage to sit down on my chair without grabbing the thing with both hands like I can't even see it. When I feel the attack come on, some days I'm luck enough to be able to go home before it hits full blown as there's no way I should be driving once it hits me full force. Other days I get stuck at the office for hours of overtime because I can't stand straight enough to go home. Regardless of major attacks, I dread going down stairs unless I can grip the railing tightly because there's a good chance I will become disoriented and tumble all the way down. Ramps. I like ramps. There should be more ramps in this world.
