Fibromyalgia and RNY

 Is Fibromyalgia a side effect of RNY surgery???

Not at all, but lots of people have it so there are RNY folks who have it but it is not a side effect of anything. It is a disease all on its own where the muscle and nerve transmissions "short circuit" and present as muscle and nerve pain. It can also be accompanied by severe fatigue.

Your Fibromyalgia pain may change  and ge tworse for a while while the nerves are exploring their new found freedom. Before surgery I hurt because the nerves were compressed . Now post op as the weight is going down and the muscles and nerves are having more room to move my pain  is less in some parts and more in others. I do find I have more pain if  I don;t drink enough.
